Anybody who has weight to loose before starting ttc?

So this is quite exciting as we have decided to ttc number 2 (number 1 for us) !! I have one dd who is 6 and my partner has one step son who is 15 so this would be our first together.
First though we both want to loose a stone..... anyone in a similar position who wants to buddy up?
I'm just trying to have a home made fruit and coconut milk smoothie for breakfast, salad for lunch, and healthy meat/fish and veg for dinner.....

I desperately need to lose weight, but we have decided to ttc anyway. Since we made that decision, I have noticed I am leaning towards healthier food. I actually need to lose about 4 stone, so fingers crossed I can get some of that off quickly as every little helps I think.

My DP is actually the one in our relationship who needs to lose weight smile he managed 7lb in week one just by eating more healthily and cutting down on booze. The new healthy diet must be doing me some good too!

Would really recommend WW as a diet plan though, they even accommodate you when you're pregnant. I lost four stone with WW and never really felt like I was on a diet smile

I thought you couldn't do ww when pregnant that's why I've gone for slimming world as I know you definitely can with them.

Sounds good to me Beautician, will be nice to have someone at the same stage.
I didn't get on too well with weight watchers, but slimming world has suited me before, with the bonus of being ok while pregnant

I've found slimming world good to start with but I'm not sure its great as it seems to be about eating as much as you want and I am afraid that I take that to the limit and end up stuffing my face!
Day 2 of smoothies and salad and actually feel better already smile
lillygirl88 I actually need to loose more to be in my healthy bmi range but hoping that I will want to stick to healthier foods like you say!
I had a thing for Oranges with my first dd!

I have to confess I had a sneaky bar of chocolate, but did compensate with two apples and a peach! I asked DH to pick up some fruit on his way home and he was an absolute star and got me a huge selection.

I find that as well Lexb14, think this time I am going to try and keep tabs on caloriesto try and get a better control on things

I've done well today - clever mesmile berry smoothie for breaky, salad and tuna for lunch, innocent smoothie for a snack and 2 egg scrambled egg, mushroom and spinach and tomato and an apple for dinner - I feel more motivated than ever - good luck everyone x

I had a manic day at work so didn't get lunch, but my assistant bought me a chocolate bar and I couldn't turn it down as it was really sweet of her.
Otherwise, I had carbonara, but we make it just with egg rather then cream or anything like that, So fairly healthy and all my fruit.
Right now I'm tucked up in bed, with my puppy feeling fairly virtuous

I am aiming to lose 2-3st while ttc but I should probably be looking at 4-5st for a good bmi sad. I joined ww last Wednesday and my first weigh in is tomorrow. Started the week off well but have had a few wobbles so am a bit worried I won't have lost and might even have put on confused

And Birchy just start with a healthy breakfast and lots of water as step one, then see how you feel at lunch, one step at a time, I find that if I try to think like i can never have treats again then it's a bit overwhelming but if I think that "today I'm going to be good " it's easier to manage.

He is a long coat Chihuahua, and very cute. We had to get a little dog as I can't walk very far, and if you train them right, they are adorable rather than snappy and yappy smile

Birchy really do just focus on one meal at a time, and do allow yourself some sort of treat.

I've had a big bowl of 0% fat greek yoghurt and added in a banana and some honey, will see how long that lasts me. On the downside for today, is that before I knew we were trying this month, I ordered a load of super scrummy chocolate and fudge from a girl on facebook, and it arrives today...must not eat it all in one go....may give it to my assistant to guard it from me smile

TTC #1 for around a year, have been advised that I ideally need to lose three stone to be in the best position to conceive. Difficult with PCOS! Overall I would like to try and lose 4-6 stone as that would put me in healthy BMI range.

1 stone down, 2 (or 4!) to go. Recently lost motivation for both weight loss and TTC, though. angry

Hi TheJWoman 1 stone down is amazing! well done.

I had a little piece of coconut ice with my mint tea, and I feel really unwell now, clammy, dizzy and a bit sick, so that's put me off sweet stuff for a bit I think.

Terrified about standing on the scales tonight, last time I went I was almost in tears I was so ashamed, this time it is even worse. My big problem is that I used to run. I did 2 marathons, ran about 20 miles a week and walked about the same. Then 18 months ago I developed severe problems in my left leg and can hardly walk across the road now. It means I have put on about 2 or 3 stone, and I barely recognise myself. Hoping that if I put a dent in the weight, I will be more able to do things in my wheelchair and I can look at getting involved in wheelchair racing or something like that.

Anyway, good luck to everyone who is on the scales tonight

I'm dreading weigh in tonight as well Lilly. I'm a bit nervous about class too. Hoping DH makes it home in time or I will have to take 3 dcs with me as well

Well, that's me been and stood on the scales, totally horrified! If I lose 10% of my body weight, I will still be above my previous heaviest weight, the weight that made me go to diet clubs in the first place. Still, it's done now and just need to get through a weekend with my parents without drinking too much or eating all the baking my mum will have done.

I am visiting friend and family over weekend so no point in starting now ( I have a no point reason every week) sad

I've had a rubbish afternoon as I suffer from hideous migraines and had one this afternoon and all I feel like doing is eating stodge for some reason it keeps the nausea at bay so I've eaten bread and butter and weetabix and my daughters smarties from her lunch tomorrow confused

Lying in bed watching one born now
