So, after 9 years together me and dh have decided to start trying. Last AF ended 29th June, I should be ovulating any day now. Very new to all this ttc malarkey so no idea what we're doing really!

I'm already making myself worry about a BFN in a couple of weeks. Didn't think I was that broody but it's all I can think about! Anybody else feeling/felt the same??

Xx

hi E11 and wlecome to the crazy world of ttc :)

we've been ttc since jan (also been with dh a long time), so not new but thought i'd give you my 2p worth... i would recommend trying not to focus on it too much as it's easy to get obsessed and it can really bring some ladies down. just have fun having lots of sex, eat healthily, take your folic acid/vitamins and keep your fingers crossed.

i was pretty chilled to start off with and fell pg after 3 months, unfortunately it ended in a mc, but now i'm back to ttc i'm trying to maintain a relaxed attitude again...but i know for many it's easier said than done.

some ladies find charting/temping/opks etc etc can provide a sense of control, but tbh i'd go with just shagging to start with, especially if you have no reason to think you're cycles are odd and you're otherwise healthy

there's lots of great support threads here, so maybe find one you like to while away the time, get things off your chest and share yur happy news when it comes :)
good luck!

Hey 5hell,

Thanks for the reply :-) that's some great advice thank you. Sorry to hear about your mc.

I will try to stay relaxed, not keen on all the charting etc as I think would make us feel pressured. Doesn't help that everybody around us seems to be announcing pregnancies!

Also I am taking vitamins....folic acid etc and we have a pretty healthy diet.

It seems easier to be honest on here especially as we haven't told anybody we are trying.....x

Hi! I'm on cycle 4 and the way we approached things was I used OPKs The first cycle but was panicked that I might have had an LH surge but not ovulated, so temped the following two cycles to confirm O (and found a pattern between that and my OPKs) and have just gone back to OPKs for this cycle and I feel much calmed now I'm not temping and know I'm ovulating. The lots of sec advice is great, but for some of us that just died work. I'm out the house 12 hours a day in a very physical job, DH is out of the house minimum 14 hours a day...we just don't have the lives that allow for sex every other day all month. Scheduled sex sounds unromantic but we find it so much less stressful and it's still really fun Wink
Anyway, just wanted to present another approach! Good luck!

Holy typos and run on sentences!! So sorry, hope the above makes some sort of sense Confused

Thank you....It's definitely useful to hear other people's approaches. I guess we are lucky as we both work locally, home by 5/5.30 and so can do it whenever we like as such. Good luck to you too ???? x

Me!!! It's hard not to let it take over once you've made the decision you want kids.

Came off mini-pill, monthly visitor arrived six weeks later, lasted five days. Now just wanting for ovulation window.

Eeeeek!

So glad its not just me! I know it's really unlikely that it will happen the first month trying but I'll still be so disappointed if its a negative :-(

Exciting times though! We've just got to try to be relaxed about it I guess ....x

As I am new to MN and the forums, I've been reading back through a few of the posts. I didn't realise that it is not uncommon to get a BFP as a false sign, or for it to turn to a BFN a couple of days later.

I was expecting that a BFP was the done deal. How heart wrenching!!

Yes I think that would be pretty devastating :-( x

Ok rant alert....I'm due for AF in about a week but am majorly symptom spotting! I've been having weird twinges and cramps woke up with a pain in my lower back and have come over all dizzy this morning. Probably just AF symptoms but I'm driving myself insane....and I know its unlikely that we'll get a bfp first month ttc but I'm going to be so upset if AF arrives or I get a bfn. Anybody else getting close to being able to test? X

Hey all, I'm new to mumsnet and TTC #1. I had my cool removed 2 weeks ago and still not had af. Last 2 days I feel extremely tired, dizzy at times and have sore boobs! It's annoying cuz I know I can't be pregnant. Maybe just side effects of having coil removed?? Good luck to you all.

Report
custarddots · 15/07/2015 19:36

Welcome Pixie!!

Not having ha a coil myself but having read a bit, I believe you can get post removal bleeding but wouldn't have thought it would feel like AF pains.

It would be amazing if someone posted here and got a BFP first time!!

Walking through sainsburys tonight I did that thing where you keep crossing the same people on each aisle and one family (mum, dad and two young kids) really rubbed it in my face with a perfect bump on the mother. Selfish!!!

E11. Don't start on the symptoms and testing. I want symptoms! I am irregular so probably will be waiting until about 28th Hmm

Hiya Smile I'm in my first month of TTC too. I had the implant taken out on 1st June and my first AF came on 1st July, so I think I'm ovulating around about now. Trying not to obsess over it, but it's so hard not to! I've been with my hubby for a long time and we're both now finally ready for the patter of tiny feet! I went on the pill when I was 15, was on that for years, then went onto the depo injection for a few years and then had the implant for almost 3 years so I have a feeling things won't happen too quickly! I'll be 38 in 2 weeks time so age isn't on my side either! xx

My last cycle was stupidly long (I put it down to stress with the wedding coming up) so I don't really know when next AF is due but I think around 21st-25th. If I'm like this month one goodness knows what crazy person I'll be in a few months! I read the average is about 8 months so month one would be amazing!

Here's to lots of bfps soon ladies!! X

How's everyone doing today?

It seems that, absurdly late, I'm only just getting PMS pains so it's gonna be a long cycle this month Hmm.

I had to chuck the candy away on the end to avoid the guilt of waving eating it all!

All good here too :-) still symptom spotting like a crazy person!

Met with a friend and her newborn today which was nice but just made me super broody.

Going to poas next weekend if af hasn't arrived (fingers crossed it won't!) X
