Hi ladies, can you kindly share your experiences of trying to conceive after Mirena. I had mine removed dec, after 4 plus years but still no luck, getting 2 day AF.

I have had a fertility MOT, eggs etc is all good. I have two DC youngest is 9. All easily conceived. No longer than two cycles. Using Opk so I know I am ovulating.

Please share your experiences, including tips. I am late thirties but scans and blood tests have confirmed I have more reserves than most women my age. But something is clearly getting in the way

I had my mirena removed in late September, started TTC in November once my periods were back to normal and fell pregnant in December.

All the best with TTC.

I had my Mirena in for 2.5 years and had it removed May 2013 when I was 29 years old. I had a small two day bleed starting a few days after it was removed and then I conceived about 4 weeks later.

I had mine in for 4 years and was pregnant within what must have been the week as DS3 was born almost 9 months to the day it was removed! (I was mid 30's) Good luck, I'm sure it won't be long for you now.

Removed I January, positive test in September. I started taking vitamin b6 because I realised I only had a 9day luteal phase and also used conceive plus.

I had it for 2.5 years. I still had very regular periods whilst I had it in so I don't know if that's why I was able to conceive so quickly because my hormones and period cycles hadn't been affected by the Mirena so my hormones didn't have to 'sort themselves out again' like it has to with some other forms of contraception. It's just a theory Grin

I also had my mirena in for almost 5 years with no period! I do remember when it came out I had a few light bleeds, then probably the cycle or two before my bfp I got a 'mega period!' With awful cramps and terrible mood! I like to think that was my body getting back into functionally.

Ds2 is 8 weeks old now and fast asleep on my chest!

Took the b6 for three cycles I think? I've still got a whole bottle if you pm me I can post you it!

Thank you Kato, I actually ordered the B6 yesterday, hope to get them tomorrow.

So it seems the body could take a while to get back after Mirena. Going to GP tomorrow to ask the question.

You have really given me hope.
