I am now 5 days away from my period being due. It's my first month ttc after our tfmr in jan.

I fell fairly quickly with dd1 as wasn't really tracking or watching symptoms.

With dd2 (who ended up having T18) we weren't actively trying but had stopped preventing iyswim.

We're now ready to try again. We dtd every other day around ovulation time. Since then, around 3dpo I started getting pretty bad abdominal cramps, like prior to period. They lasted around 3 days. Since then I've had a really achy lower back that I just can't shift.

No other real symptoms other than an increased appetite but that could be down to my running. Oh and fatigue, which I really suffered with both my other pregnancies.

It is possible that the cramps 3dpo were actually ovulation pains and that the app I use calculated my fertile time wrong which would be really annoying but nothing I can do now. I'll get opk next month.

What on earth is this back ache though? It's driving me mad. I've never had to do the traditional tww thing and I've been driving myself mad with the 'am I? Aren't I?' questions.

I've never heard of backache as being an early pregnancy symptom. Maybe you just jarred it running or pulled it somehow.

It's not a muscular ache, more the ache you get in your back when you have your period.

Hey Kitty. Would hate to give false hope but wilth DS I had the works. Implantation cramps and bleeding and then exactly what you describe. Was awful. Had to shove my hot water bottle down my pyjama bottoms and sleep like that. Try it. It may be nothing of course but I also couldn't find anyone who'd had the same thing. Remember going out for dins to celebrate my friends bday and not being able to sit still due to the lower back pain. It was cd 29 and I'd done a first response two days before so knew I was preggers. It might not be that tho of course - every person and pregnancy is complety different but it's what I had! Best of luck. Xx

Can you get a first response test? If so please let us know! Xx

Thanks. I think I've actually got to the point of hoping it is a sign purely because I can't do this every month if it's part of my cycle (my symptoms are totally different since loosing dd2).

I will definitely try the hot water bottle. I've been avoiding ibuprofen just in case I am pregnant.

Like you say, even sitting is uncomfortable.

Well going by your days and everything else you say it sounds exactly like my very early pregnancy but you may have just pulled it as Oyster says. Let us know ok?

I could get one burin trying to hold our until sat when I'm due. I'd worry as it's not 99% accurate this early.

In also at that stage where I desperately want to be pregnant but I also know that getting a positive will be the start of (hopefully) 9 very stressful, anxious months full of tests and scans. I think I like the idea of a few more days not knowing if that makes any sense at all Confused

Thanks, I'll try the hot water bottle and report back once I've plucked up the courage to test, or AF arrives

Hey.. The exact same thing has happened to me!
I ovulated (if my EWCM is anything to go by) a week early.. But that would be the day that OH and I didn't use anything as we weren't expecting an egg to appear for another week.. So from 7dpo I've had cramping and sore boobs - which aren't pre AF things for me - and then over the weekend, my back pain has been chronic and, like you, I've been unable to get at all comfortable.
I was due on today and usually wake on the Monday to full blown, heavy AF... But I've had one lot of brown spotting when I wiped at lunchtime and nothing... Just random twinges and pulls with a few moments of, what feels like, motion sickness...

Gonna see how the week goes, if nothing has come of this spotting by the end of the week, I'm gonna test! :(

Op I'm due on tomorrow and I've had horrendous lower back pain for a few days now, doesn't feel like an ache, almost feels like a stabbing pain!

KittyandTeal · 23/06/2015 08:22

Sounds like you both have stronger symptoms than me. I can't really decide if my boobs are a bit tender or if it's my mind.

The only symptom I've ever really had in previous pregnancies is the exhaustion and feeling 'off' which is how I feel atm, but then I felt like that the month before I conceived dd2 so it could be nothing.

How are you feeling today kitty?
I've woken up 15dpo and no AF. Not even a teeny tiny bit when I wipe.

But I can understand your exhaustion! I'm currently sleeping 10-11 hours a night and also having 2 hour naps in the day! :( just avoiding POAS at the moment...

Really? Maybe its pre period then. I guess it's all the same muscles. Sorry if my post got your hopes up/made you panic more. All the best for next month xx

Not at all :)

It's very odd, I'm shattered atm and normally my energy levels are pretty good plus this backache that won't shift! I'm hoping it's a coincidence as I've had it since ovulating, fingers crossed it's not going to become a regular symptom.

I guess there is a slim, outside chance the test was wrong but unlikely for a first response 4 days before I'm due.

kitty I would definitely wait until you are due on.
The first time I was pregnant I didn't show until I was 8 weeks pregnant on a test! Not to get your hopes up, like putney says.. But it is always possible. It isn't over until AF rears her ugly head! :)

I was due on Sunday night/Monday morning.. Always happens that way - I wake Monday with it in all it's painful glory. But no. Boobs are still sore. Back pain and cramping remains. Some brown spotting yesterday lunchtime.. And now nothing at all?? :(

Thanks dreaming. I've never done a test before my period is due but I've always got a strong positive on the first missed day (even with dd2 who had T18, one of the symptoms being very low hcg levels)

I'm not going to get my hopes up, I'm very disappointed but the emotions are all linked in with grief etc anyway so I kind of knew it would hit me hard, whatever the result tbh!

Your situation sounds very positive. If it makes you feel better I had a fair bit of brown spotting with dd1 and a few bleeds, she's now a happy most of the time when I do what she wants 2.8yo.

I'm keeping all my fingers crossed for you

If I am pregnant it would be like immaculate conception!! We've had sex once in the last 6 weeks.. As we've both been in and out of the country with work.. I think we shared a bed 3 times in a 4 week period! Nightmare!

I suppose I've just gotta see how this week pans out..

And kitty.. Maybe do the same? Just see what your body does in the next 7 days and go from there? Our bodies have a habit of getting us into a routine and then doing something completely different to throw us!! :( and the grief is so so understandable.. It must have been such an emotional and heart breaking time... The next BFP will most likely be a huge mix between sadness, happiness and "oh my god!" :) you've got to allow yourself all of those emotions - it's human :)

Keep is updated though! :)
Xx

You've hit the nail on the head dreaming. I'm going to look at this negative as another month that I have 'off' the potentially heartbreaking months of pregnancy.

I know I won't feel like that in a few months of negatives.

If your body is still playing tricks in the next 7 days though - I would definitely POAS.
You never know... Our lives have a way of deciding things for us. :)

I'm spotting again. But nothing consistent or AF like. For goodness sake lol x

I definitely don't trust my body anymore!

I'm still knackered, back and leg aches, gas and boobs are getting more painful. Plus I could eat half the fridge atm. These may well all be pre-menstrual signs but at least they're not psychosomatic (I was wondering if I'd just convinced myself I'd felt these things)
