Can Clomid bugger everything up?

Hi - I'm 44. On my first cycle of Clomid after a m/c at the end of last year. Am still ovulating on my own, but FSH is 12 and consultant said Clomid would provide a "boost".

The only symptom I had when I was taking it was headaches.

I'm now on day 14, but the CB monitor just keeps saying "high". I normally ov on days 10-11. Fertile CM has almost disappeared.

I've been feeling sick and giddy with it too. Day before yesterday - day 12 - I had violent pain in my abdomen, thought I was going to throw up and/or pass out. Had to sit down with a colleague (who thankfully knows what I'm taking and why) and get myself with it enough to go into a meeting. Then yesterday, my abdomen was so tender and I felt sick again (though not so much as day before) I had to leave a yoga class.

Thought the pain might be ovulation - but CB monitor hasn't picked it up.

Has anyone else had this? I know I haven't been through a whole cycle with it yet. But don't think I've ovulated, and am not sure that the crazy sickness/cramps/whirlies is a great sign?

ta.

Should have said too:

I'm not being scanned or monitored - just going for a blood test on day 21.

I don't have PCOS or anything - have been ovulating every month (except one after m/c) on my own, according to ClearBlue Advanced Fertility Monitor.

Hi Ging I dont know much about clomid but i am waiting to be referred to fertility treatment and hoping to be put on it too

I just looked at an article about Clomid and it says that pelvic pain and sickness or nausea can be a side effect, i will try to put the link to the page so you can read it too, best of luck!! www.drugs.com/clomid.html

Loss of fertile CM is another side effect! I felt quite unwell on Clomid and was a monstrous cow and that was only on 50mg. Got my BFP first cycle though.

I'm on day 19 with it now and still no ovulation showing up on the monitor. No more side effects, thank God. I go for the day 21 progesterone blood test on Friday - so I guess that will say definitively whether it happened.

Hope it goes better for you, Rainy. And be prepared to be pushy. You may get a wonderful specialist, but the first one I saw told me I stood less than 2% chance of getting pregnant, even with IVF. Then I got pregnant naturally, but miscarried. The consultant who's seeing me now is much more positive and suggested Clomid.

I've found a supplement called FertileCM and have started taking that now too. It's a bit late for this cycle, but hopefully will help next time.
