First ever tww!

Hi all, so I'm about to start my first ever tww - well my app says today is my last day of my fertile window, so will probably have a cheeky dtd tonight! But my period is due a week Sunday on 26 April, so it's two weeks exactly from now.

Is anyone else at the same point in their cycle and want to join me? I haven't bought any pg tests as I only want to take one if my period is late rather than testing at the earliest opportunity - all part of my (trying to be) relaxed approach to ttc. I'm not hopeful it's happened this month though, what with it being our first try and me having way too much to drink over the weekend which was my fertile window, I'm sure it will have stopped anything happening!

Hi Lookingforadvice.

I had my last fertile day yesterday. We dtd Fri, Sat and Sun but this is our first time too smile

I also havn't bought any pregnancy tests but am strongly considering getting some vitamins.

I guess we've missed the boat this month but it's def. an exciting time!

Lookingforadvice123 Mon 13-Apr-15 15:55:50

Lovely to hear someone else is in the same boat! Yeah I would get some vitamins, I started taking folic acid a week ago as it was only then we decided to ttc, but you can take it any time before you conceive I think? So no harm you getting some now!

My fertile window was Thurs-Tues originally, but when I updated my info yesterday this shifted so today is my last day. Bit annoying as we dtd Weds, Fri and Sun - Sunday had originally been the day with the highest fertility score (on Ovia) but this then changed to Sat when I put my info in yesterday! Typical.

What's your plans in terms of testing, you just going to wait and see if your period's late?

beckiepea83 Mon 13-Apr-15 16:33:13

Hi ladies, also in the tww. Bit further ahead than you. AF due Saturday. This is our second month TTC. Also on folic acid but not loving the stuff. Been feeling icky and blaming it on them. May have to try another brand. Going to wait till Saturday to see if AF turns up and even if by some sort of luck is doesn't I'll still hold out POAS till into next week I think. Trying not to get to caught up in it also, but it's hard. Good luck both!

chelle792 Mon 13-Apr-15 16:33:51

We basically have the same fertility time! Awesome!

I sent OH to asda with my cousin over the weekend and told him to try to sneak some pre-conception vitamins into the trolley. He managed to come back with a very funny story about how he ditched my cousin for a while and then had to hide the vitamins under the shoes in the George section after he was found!

I think I'm going to just wait and see. I'm not convinced that I've ovulated this month so can't get my hopes up too much. The doctor said that I'll probably have problems because I'm not really ovulating (grrr). I'm expecting it to take a while but am hopeful it won't!

I'm already dreaming of nurseries and how I'm going to tell OH that I'm pregnant. Want something special and memorable somehow.

Lookingforadvice123 Mon 13-Apr-15 17:02:59

Hi beckie! Good to hear someone else is going to wait before testing, most other posters seem to want to test at earliest opportunity but like you I don't want to get caught up like that, at least not this early on! Is it your first?

chelle I've just asked you a question on another thread haha! Sorry to hear you're not ovulating regularly. Has the doc said they'll give you anything to help or is it a case of wait and see?

beckiepea83 Mon 13-Apr-15 17:04:03

All exciting times Chelle, you sound a lot like me with all the day dreaming. It's all a drama sneaking around. Me and OH decided not to tell anyone that we TTC as less pressure but it's so hard. Are you also keeping it a secret? I don't track my cycle at the moment so it's all guess work.

beckiepea83 Mon 13-Apr-15 17:07:23

Sorry lookingforadvice, only just seen your post. Yes this will be our first. I'm 31 and from Wales. Me and OH just got our first home. Been together over four years though. I have bought two tests but I'm not going to use them till I need to.

Lolipoplady Mon 13-Apr-15 17:19:10

This is my second cycle off of birth control pills, I'm currently in the 2ww and AF is due on Tuesday. I'm not sure if I've ovulated or not this month (see my thread on OPKs, argh!) but we dtd three times in what I am hoping was my fertile period. Not expecting anything though as it just seems too soon after starting ttc - would be amazing luck though!

chelle792 Mon 13-Apr-15 17:23:41

I just replied on the other thread lookingforadvice smile I'm 'allowed' help after 8 months instead of the usual 12. I completely agree with you about testing at the earliest opportunity! I don't think I'd be able to do that but I know I will be counting down each due date with bated breath!

beckie I've told a couple of really close friends. I'm such a blabber mouth I find it really hard to keep things a secret. Hence why I'm here, I guess! I need to talk to someone! I've got a really cool tracker on my phone that has a picture of a flower...I dont know the name of the app but if you type in period tracker, or something like that. That might help? If only to know when your period is due.

So beckie is 31? I'm 28. lookingforadvice?

Lookingforadvice123 Mon 13-Apr-15 17:58:37

I'm 27! And also from Wales Beckie, South! Where abouts you from? And you Chelle?

beckiepea83 Mon 13-Apr-15 18:02:58

Ah fab Chelle, thank you, I'll take a look. I'm sure I'll get really frustrated after a few months and start tracking everything. I'm already getting a nightmare of symptom spotting. Also why I am on here... So I can talk to someone about this and it's so nice to be in the same boat together!

Lollipop, welcome. Also my second month eeeeeee! Not tracking atm so just DTD when we feel we need to.

I did want kids before 30... Not it's changed to 35 Haha.

beckiepea83 Mon 13-Apr-15 18:03:33

I'm also south. Not far from Cardiff.

smellsofelderberries Mon 13-Apr-15 23:09:02

Oh! I'm in my first TWW too! Due on on Friday so if nothing's arrived by Saturday morning I will test. I'm terrible for the symptom spotting right now too and have to keep reminding myself it would be literally impossible to have any symptoms on 10DPO.

I have been taking folic acid since January and I just ran out do have moved to boots own brand prenatal vitamins. I got the prenatal ones instead of the pre-conception ones as the prenatals are so much cheaper and are nearly identical, but I have a feeling the iron isn't really sitting very well confused

I really admire you for not tracking Beckie. I am using OPKs and using Glow (and Kindara, though not liking that as much).

Thanks for starting the thread, Looking!

beckiepea83 Tue 14-Apr-15 08:50:54

I know elderberries but its so hard isent it. I have at least 6 symptoms... In my head anyway haha. Band myself from googling as last month I was the same and really dissapointed with a BFN. Not to long for to you to wait until test day. AF is due Saturday for me. But I'll prob wait till Wednesday or Thursday to test if she doesn't come, only because of all the posts I have seen on here about people testing after no AF and getting BFN. who am I kidding, I'll be testing Sunday grin

chelle792 Tue 14-Apr-15 08:58:07

Haha beckie I will definitely test the day after I'm due on!

I live in Hampshire.

Symptom spotting is bad bad bad.... I'm about 3dpo (potentially) and am already symptom spotting. Sore boobs and stomach cramps make me think it might be early AF or ovulation this week. Screwed up body!!

Welcome elderberries and lollipop

beckiepea83 Tue 14-Apr-15 09:27:08

Ah Chelle, it is so hard not to. I admire the ones who don't!.. Not that I have heard of many. I'm going for meyalic taste and feeling sick on and off for the last two days (both more than likely from the folic acid vits), sore boobs, cramps and the tinniest bit of spotting (again AF due Sat so its gotta be that) and lower back pain (from working far to much hmm) but wishful thinking always creeps in! Someone slap me now please!! Ah you never know though, you maybe surprised! Only came off my pill in Jan, so I'm still a little irregular.

beckiepea83 Tue 14-Apr-15 09:28:21

Sorry confused that's metallic taste in my mouth! Stupid auto correct!!

chelle792 Tue 14-Apr-15 09:52:20

Ah beckie how will we cope? smile

I almost didn't want to do the deed last night and this morning! I said no to OH's attempts last night for the first time ever

This morning I managed to relax into it but I feel like I've automatically lumped about ten tonnes of pressure on myself.

wishiwaspregnant Tue 14-Apr-15 11:02:28

hello, I'm also going to take a test on Saturday! Think there's a few of us.
Shall we report back our news (good or disappointing). We have been TTC for 4 months now. I'm ignoring any symptoms now, as I get all the same symptoms with PMS anyway so that'd make me pregnant every month!! Though last month my P was 2 days late which get me excited, however 2x neg tests and then my P appeared ):sad times
Trying not to get down, and I actually get better each month that passes which coping with the disappointment. It's not going to happen over night (says the neighbour with 4 kids) Hmmm... I'm very impatient!
Has anyone else had the same 'convinced I'm pregnant as having every symptom in the book' scenario?

beckiepea83 Tue 14-Apr-15 11:40:32

Yes yes yes wishiwas and it just leads to disappointment and then taking my moodiness out on OH! Oh yes we should let each other know how it goes, and the ladies just starting the tww. I'm also impatient.. Wanting everything yesterday. My younger sister is due in a few months... She is having a honey moon baby... I'm happy for her and excited to have a niece but you know how it is blush

I Know exactly l what you mean Chelle this weekend I just haven't wanted to dtd atall and it's not like me. Feels like the enjoyment is going out of a bit as I'm focusing to much on getting pregnant. Need to try and relax and enjoy it.

MsCoconut Tue 14-Apr-15 13:16:04

lookingforadvice I'm in the same boat as you exactly. Even down to my fertility app readjusting the dates this weekend. Just came off the pill this month so would be reassured if af came when predicted in two weeks time to confirm a normal cycle. I had some reassuringly stretchy cm last night. Fx my ovaries are getting used to being back in action!

Lookingforadvice123 Tue 14-Apr-15 13:37:46

Good luck to you all testing this weekend, let us know the outcomes!

MsCoconut my cycles went back to normal regularity straight after coming off the pill (microgynon) I even had (tmi) a massive blob of EWCM the first month! My periods have been very light though which makes me think it's still taking a while to adjust, so don't be too disheartened if they don't go back to normal straight away.

Lolipoplady Tue 14-Apr-15 21:16:19

Oh the symptom spotting is awful isn't it! I am also guilty of that. It's just because I want it so much grin

DP and I are currently apart so I wish I could dtd more often to be sure of catching ovulation when (if) it occurs, but I'm just thankful we were together in my estimated fertile period this month.

I found that my period went back to normal after stopping the pill too, only difference was that the first "real" period was 2 days later than in used to be (always had 28 day cycle). Had ewcm first cycle but just lots of water cm this cycle - sorry if tmi.

chelle792 Wed 15-Apr-15 08:01:45

Symptom spotting is the worst!! I keep trying to te tell myself that the sore boobs and stomach cramps are usual monthly bits. Added to that I got a random dizzy spell yesterday and felt really sick yesterday night. Impossible yet but it messes with my head!!

beckie TMI but we have dtd every day since Friday and I'm starting to get soooo sore!! Maybe have to move to every other day
