Ok well I'm new to mumsnet Grin so hello to all
Where to start lol
I been with my boyfriend since we was at school so almost 15 years now Smile we decided to wait to have kids till we was settled in our own home so last year after a few months of talkin I came off the pill ( cerazette ) was on it for 3 years.
So I stopped my pill on the 10th October been almost 15 weeks now an I've had no bleed at all Sad
Really worried as I'm not even having signs of coming on my period.
I went to my doctors last week just to really see wot he would suggest an he said to come bk in 3 months time if my period ain't come by then he will run some blood test.
Really don't know wot to do Confused I want blood test done now lol

welcome Smile

it's an awful wait for your period to return, absolutely horrid. it seems to be pot luck with when it returns for some people. I've just started tonight, after 5 weeks, but I've read stories of women who have taken up to a year to get back to normal Sad

I don't think they explain things thoroughly when choosing contraception, because I for one wouldn't have gone on the pill if I'd known what coming off was going to be like Sad

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you honey, it's a horrible wait Thanks Thanks

Hi and welcome to mumsnet :) it can take a long time to regulate after being on the pill. I was on a different pill to you but had no period for 4 months after coming off but then got pregnant so must've been lucky and conceived on the first ovulation so never actually had a period. Some women take a lot longer though, not many Dr's will run tests before 6 months - some longer - so it's good that yours have said they'll do bloods in 3 months but fingers crossed everything's ok for you.

Wow one year Shock really hope one don't take that long.
That's true rachelrawrrr I didn't think it would be this hard to come off them an ttc Sad
Does anyone know wot the blood test will show? As doctor never explained it to me.

I came off cerezzete when we decided to ttc, I was pregnant within 4 weeks and never had a period. It is different for everyone, try not to worry to much yet.

Have you done a pregnancy test? It is possible you already conceived :-)

I'm sure it'll not be a year for you Smile I didn't get any signs of the period coming until yesterday when I had cramps. I think the average is between about 3 and 6 months?

fingers crossed for you Thanks

Are you sure you are not already pregnant?

I was on Cerazette for 7 years, came off in July, now 14+4

The pill leaves your system very quickly after taking the last tablet and what the pill may have done here is mask symptoms of an underlying hormonal imbalance.

I would return to the GP and see if you can have blood tests done asap. What you could do with is a day 2 test (this can be done according to calendar days) to check your LH level against that of your FSH level. If those hormone levels are awry then ovulation is affected. You need a diagnosis first and foremost.

I would not use OPKs in your circumstances as they are unhelpful if periods are irregular and or non existent.
