I'm a complete newb to this and don't know a lot so after a few words of wisdom please.

I came off cerazette mid-October and am now on the TWW of cycle 3 (although not trying in the first month as I wasn't expecting a cycle to return so quickly). I have gone straight back to the regular 29 day cycle I had before I started the pill (10 years ago).

The trouble I'm having is that I get literally no signs of ovulation at all. I'm ov-symptom spotting every bloody day from CD10-18 but I can't see/feel anything. I have very little CM all month so can't really see any changes in that, I don't get any pains or twinges. Is there anything else I should look out for? Is it possible that I'm not ov-ing at all?

We are trying to take it easy at the moment so didn't really want to go down the OPK route (also heard they're not that reliable) but if general consensus is it's worth trying I'd be grateful for recommendations on which ones to use.

Thanks in advance.

Hi crazy I use opks cheapy ones from Amazon and have just started temping as well. I find this really useful in pinning down my ovulation. Also opks will only detect the LH surge which triggers ovulation, but temping confirm when ovulation has taken place. Hope that helps. Smile

Thanks Boosk. I didn't really want to get as 'serious' as temping. I think that's a side of it DH doesn't need to see. If still nothing in a couple of months I may try it for a month to see if I am actually oving.

So is it possible to get a positive OPK without actually oving?

Hi yes it's quite possible to get the surge of hormone detected by the OPK but then for the egg not to be released.

Think it took 6 months for me to start ovulating after stopping the pill but that's based on how different my AF started to become after that time. I've been temping for 2 months and it has relaxed me more than anything as I know my body is doing the right thing and takes all the guess work out of it! Don't think my DH takes any notice of it as I do it before he wakes up and just put the info into my app.

Agree with chocky, I know it's not for everyone but I feel much more in control and relaxed knowing that I have ovulated and when. What has surprised me is just how varied my cycle can be.

I also think it's useful evidence should we need it later on if we have difficulty in trying.

Like I said, not for everyone, but maybe worth a try if you are finding pinpointing your ovulation stressful.

Ok thanks. AF is due in a couple of days so if she shows her head this month I'll pick up a thermometer. What apps are you using to track?

Hi crazy, I'm using fertility friend and have the VIP version (paid) as I like the extra functions of chart interpretation. It's a little confusing at first so I'd recommend just practising with the app the first month. Good luck!

Sorry to hear that AF arrived crazy good luck for next month. I'd recommend joining the TTC bus threads as there is always lots of friendly support and advice, and one or two charting experts. Smile

I've tried a couple of times but I don't get on here very often so it's difficult to keep up as they're such fast moving threads.
