Chemical Preg dates advice please

Hi,

Just wondering when the pregnancy hormone will have left my body. My dates are below.

24/11 Positive test (AF due date) (14-15 DPO)
25/11 Positive test
26/11 - Spotting turns into bleeding
2/12 - Still bleeding a little one week.

I just did a cheapie test from pound shop and there's is mega faint line. I don't for one second think I'm preg still because nothing could survive that blood loss, but just want to know how long hormone is likely to stay?

I was only pregnant for like 3 days so surely it would go pretty quickly as the hormone doesn't have time to build.
Thank you if you can answer x

OP I did a pound shop cheap test (called First Answer) or something like that and it gave me a faint line. I was not pregnant - I did a clear blue and it said BFN, and a First Response. You cannot trust those tests, they are absolutely shite.

Get a Clear Blue with weeks indicator - if it is still on 1-2 then leave it another week before testing.

If it is on 2-3 i'd get a scan done as it may not have been a Chem Preg but possibly a haematoma and you may well still be pregnant. x

thanks number3. I was being cheap skate because I forked out something like £40 on preg tests and vitamins the week before. I just wanted to know it was out of my system.
Defo not preg because of the cramping at onset of bleeding/AF.

cantbelieve I'm ok thanks. I'm going to be positive for next month. I've gone from unexplained secondary infertility to a chemical preg, so however distressing that was, it's a positive step in the right direction. They say you are more fertile also after a MC so here's praying! x

Hey allchat when I had my mc I had to do a repeat test 2 weeks later to check it was negative, so if it's still positive next week I would see someone.

Good luck for the future... X

I think it was actually 3, but as I was going abroad j3 weeks later she said 2 would be ok, so they had a week spare if I needed medical management. It was negative after 2 x

Mine was chemical though? Don't you only need management if it's clinical? It's mad to think the hormone stays around that long when it's only taken about 10 days to build (in my case anyway)

Yes, mine was a missed mc at 11 weeks, so I'm sure yours will sort itself out without too much trouble. Sorry that sounds so harsh, I don't mean to minimise it in any way. And yes the human body is completely bonkers.

No no it's not harsh. I know that I'm lucky in some ways. So much better physically and emotionally for it to happen earlier in pregnancy. Just been a long road. sorry for your loss at 11 wks. its tough going xx

I just did a CB on instructions from DH because he was pissed I was using pound shop tests. It's positive and say 2-3 weeks. This has thrown me. I was expecting to see positive but maybe just 1-2 weeks as hcg must be low?
Doc has no appointments and I don't want to go as emergency as I'm not sick (and don't want to be around sick people!).
I should just wait another week shouldn't I???? I think I only tested again because I've started cramping again. Could it be that my body hasn't got rid of it all?

Personally i'd get yourself down to Early Pregnancy Unit at your local hospital (check you don't need an A&E referral first) right now.

The fact you are showing 2-3 means it is not a chemical preg, you have progressed from 1-2 (a chem preg is mega early, this is suggesting 4-5 weeks now which makes me think there has been some development)

Could well be a miscarriage or a haemotoma, either way needs to be checked.

I wouldn't want to give false hope, so I would say it doesn't sound good, but you should get yourself checked out to see exactly what is going on.

Please let us know how you get on x

I'm a bit scared to go on my own to a hospital. I feel silly. I feel like I should wait it out? It could be a slow loss?

Hi allchat. Firstly, sorry for your loss. I had a chemical pregnancy in October, and had a negative hpt result 10 days after the first positive. I did see the dr whilst this was all happening and had 2 blood tests 48hrs apart, which confirmed the pregnancy wasn't progressing. The dr told me to wait 2 weeks before testing again - I just did it a bit earlier than she said - so I guess that's how long it can take. On a more positive note I went on to conceive in the next cycle and currently 7 weeks so fingers crossed for you. Hope you get sorted - perhaps try ringing the EPU if you don't want to go in?

Just got home. It's a longggg wait in EPU. They were very nice. Had scan and nothing could be seen and lining very thin so they think I'd miscarried and it had gone, but couldn't actually diagnose that because no evidence. The urine sample was faint positive. Took bloods and have to call them around 6 jet to check levels and rule out ectopic.
Thanks for support guys xx

All- sorry to read your post Sad
It can take a while to go am afraid. I had one at 5 weeks and took 8 weeks to HCG to get low enough to not say positive on HPT.
Thoughts are with you x
