I am wondering (very vaguely) if I might be pregnant. Low-level nausea (not actually sick but constantly swallowing and the only thing that helps is eating). Quite a lot of wind, which isn't helping the nausea. Finding the smell of my moisturiser unbearable at the moment. Sore boobs and a sort of not-quite-crampy feeling which made me wonder yesterday if my period was due, but I'm mid-cycle (last period was about 2 weeks ago and I'm not due for another 2). I have very occasionally felt a twinge at ovulation time but that's not what I'm feeling at the moment. And very tired.

Fully appreciate that all of this could be equally consistent with not being pregnant, but would like to know. Am I right in thinking that there's no pregnancy test that will give me a reliable answer before the first day of my forthcoming period?

PS sorry if I've chosen the wrong board, I wasn't sure which one would be the most appropriate!

Almost If you period was only 2 weeks ago and AF isnt due for another 2 weeks you would only just be ovulating.

If you were pregnant it would be to early to get a positive test as implantation doesnt happen until around 6-10dpo give or take a couple of days.

A first response might pick up a pregnancy a couple of days before Af is due but not with everyone.

I would think that your feeling this way due to ovulation, I get various symptoms eg stabby pains in my side, cramps, nausea, headaches.

Have you done an ovulation test?

It does seem really unlikely to me too, and I would normally be expecting to be ovulating around now, it's just that I've never had any symptoms at ovulation before. But I suppose there's a first for everything!

You are too early to test right now but several tests will be reliable about three days early. First response early result is the most sensitive, Superdrug own brand early tests are almost as good and half the price. Digital tests are less reliable if you are testing early.

however mid cycle is also too early fir symptoms as the embryo would not have implanted yet. Was your last period normal? If it was shorter or lighter. Than usual perhaps test now and then don't test until period is late.

Hmm, I don't remember my period being any different than usual. I should say, I do know that I would usually be ovulating around now, but it happens that I have a couple of friends who conceived at the end of their periods, so I don't rule anything out. Very much appreciate the advice - sounds like it's best just to wait and see if my next period's late and then test if it is!

Oops, Xpost with Sunbathing. Not a silly question at all, I wish I could remember. I only keep a note of the start date as a rule so that I can count forward.

I love to pee on a stick so in your position would buy some internet cheapies and give it a go. What is there to lose?

Argh, sorry to drip feed. Have just checked my diary and basically although the app says my average cycle is 28 days it's been varying quite widely over the last few months, shortest was 25 days and longest 33 days Hmm.

I definitely think I'd better avoid jumping to conclusions and just wait for my next period to come!
