Hello Ladies!

Thought I'd try and get some of the 20+ hopeful Mummies together.

My lovely DP and I don't want to let on that we're TTC so I'm lacking friends and a chit chat about all the downstairs what not. DP will die inside if he has to hear about cycles/ovulation or temperatures anymore!

Let's get some BFPs going!

Hi, we are on holiday at the moment for a month, and I forgot to pack my pill. Whilst talking, DH and I have decided to begin TTC... Very excited, but I am worried about the whole 'working and child care thing...affording it and what not. I'm hoping that everything will fall into place, what do you think? We are both 25.

Good luck and feel free to private message me if you feel like a chat!

I think that if you and DH both want it then do it! There's a whole 9 months to plan things!

I'm feeling excited and nervous too! I think it's just a natural reaction lol!

Hope you're having a wonderful holiday!

How exciting! I have been lurking recently as we will start TTC soon too. I am 24 and partner is 26. I am trying to convince partner to start trying now rather than wait 'til the new year!

I am 28 and hubbie is 29. We have been TTC since March but no luck as yet. I was on the pill for 10 years and have not settled into a proper cycle yet which is mega annoying!

Hello snow and creme :)

Snow once your cycle is settled you'll be able to plan more easily! Don't give up hope! :)

Is anyone using a particular method of just going for it haha!

I'm using an app called Ovia. Seems pretty good you can input data into about how you're feeling and it picks up on stuff. Estimates your most fertile days based on your cycle without having to mess about taking ovulation tests.

I'm not sold on using ovulation tests seems like extra pressure. What do you think?

Thanks tylastar.

Well I already use m cycles to track my af etc so I do like the ease of using an app - I will definitely giv what you recommended a go.

I'm not sure about the opks - they work for some people but I know people can become on eases with them. Also heard a lot about this clear blue fertility thing people are using but I've heard of people putting water on them and still getting smiley faces etc!

Maybe for the first few months I will just track and dtd as often as I can. Wink

Then if no BFP we can look into opks etc.

Bloody autocorrect - not on eases with opks - become obsessed!

Hi everyone! I am 28 trying to conceive our first little one, cycle 2. Due to test in the next week. Xx

I'm planning on tracking and dtd to. I want to have good chances but I don't want to go crazy!!

The clear blue one is expensive I would think! I'd rather save money for the little one!

Hey Ip2014! How exciting! Fingers crossed for you! :)

No problem!

I'm due to test in about a week and a half. Not feeling hopeful this month though.

I must be the only person who doesn't understand the whole tracking ovulation thing. Surely if we have sex every day then I have covered all bases? Lol sorry for tmi! Thanks, we are having a fab month touring west coast USA... I am seeing babies everywhere and am crying at every little thing. My biological clock is ticking so loudly I'm surprised others can't hear it! I believe that nobody is ever completely ready for a baby, and if you keep waiting til you are, then it will never be the right time. That's my excuse anyway! We are so excited, especially as it is our little secret at the moment :) good luck everyone xx

I agree tylastar - it's our first cycle ttc so in won't be doing all of that extra stress with opks etc.

Agree with the clear blue being expensive too.

I'm on my last day of af so won't be testing for a while.

Good luck all. Smile

In exactly the same situation as snowberry. Also 28, had also been on the pill for 10 years. I see pregnant people everywhere just now!

Should say, I already have one DS who's 10 and not biologically DHs. :)

Hi There! I'm 28 and ttc for the first time I only just got my first real AF on the 28th of Jul after 48days from coming off the CP! So I have no idea how to track when I might ovulate or how long my cycle will be!

Report
Tylastar · 04/08/2014 09:36

Morning all :)

I didn't have a clue either but the app is dead simple! You put when your last AF began and ended and it pretty much does the rest :)

Jane don't worry :) just keep track if what you can and maybe give it another month to see if you're regular?

Can I join in? I'm 27. Very nervous about whether we're doing the right thing, money, childcare etc. But excited too.

Cycle #1, due to test in next week or so.

The reason people use OPKs, temp their bbt and check their CM is because not everyone can DTD every other day. Even if you can, you won't know if you have actually ovulated without tracking, as only a temp increase can confi that.

Also it gives people information so that you can understand what is going on. You might have a short luteal phase and keep having early chemical pregnancies, or you might not have enough progestrone, might not ovulate at all. Obviously on your first cycle TTC you can be relaxed about it and if you can go months and months without success and be happy not knowing why I salute you. But that why people like to track their cycles.
