TTC with shift working OH

Just that really. OH works shifts starting between 1-2pm finishing 11-12pm sometimes later. How do other people manage with tricky shift patterns. DS currently wakes around 6am so early morning is hard. We are only managing once or twice a week at the moment. Any suggestions? Is the answer just TV for DS so we can have a mid morning go?

My DH is in the military so often away and I work in healthcare. We also have a 2 year old DD. I know how you feel with those vanishing windows of opportunity. I am 20 weeks pregnant after recurrent miscarriages.

We TTC using a combination of Peppa Pig boxed set for DD to watch. Going away for weekend while grandparents looked after DD. Setting alarm very early before DD woke up. Me travelling to hotel near where DH was working on one occasion and DD going to hotel gym crèche. You just have to be creative and find/ make opportunities and not laugh when 'this is my little brother George' rings in your ears at a critical romantic moment. Good luck.

I was thinking we might need to plan in some days. Not very romantic but needs must. Peppa pig it is then. :_)

hello, my hubby works offshore so can completely empathise with the frustration at missing vital fertility days when he isn't even there. Also its an added pressue as some people know we are 'trying' but where on paper it looks like we have been trying for say 6 months, in reality we have probably only had 2 months where it has even been remotely possible. Gave ourselves the best shot this month so fingers crossed - AF /BFP due on 19th so hoping we get the answer we want!! Can't offer any advice about your other little one as this is us ttc #1 - dogs are much easier to lock out of the room for the required amount of time! haha!

Good luck and i hope Peppa Pig works wonders for you!! ;) It really should be listed as an aid to conception - relaxing mood, preseed and peppa pig! x

Another military wife here who knows how flipping difficult it is, we have weekends and sometimes not even those if he is away on exercise. It's only our first month trying but he is away nearly all summer so if we dont get lucky by then we will have to wait months before trying again :(

Gosh it sounds really hard when OHs are away for long stretches. Hope this month is all our months

We are also TTC number 2 with a shift pattern to contend with. Some of our problem is that after working for 12 hours DH just isn't really up for it. We're only managing to DTD once in the right time of the month. DD was unintentional so in hoping we're fairly fertile and that we'll get lucky.
Alternatively our holiday in may might be the time to have a really good go at it.

Ended up having a chat with OH last night and we are going to diary in some time. nOt very sexy but needs must.
We are were quite fertile.
Took a month to conceive DS, then a month to conceive my last pregnancy (had a miscarriage) but it's 4 months since then and nothing. I tried OPKs this month and no double line on them so not sure if I;m not ovulating. I can;t decide if I should get cheapie ones and test several times a day or just do the diary every 2 days DTD for a month and see how we go.
I am starting to go a bit crazy.
