Wait and see, frustrating but not any other option. How regular us your cycle?

patch77 · 06/03/2014 19:34

What kind of test are you using?

If using a blue dye test, wait two days and then test with a pink/red dye test, as these pick up the hormones more accurately and less likely to give your an evaporation line.

If using a red dye test, then wait two days (to give the hormones chance to double) and then test again.

If there is still a negative, you could go the dr's but i doubt they will do much. Or just wait for either af or a bfp. Its not uncommon for cycles to lengthen for no particular reason.

Good luck

Thanks for your reply.
I think first response was pink so I'll get that next
Or do you recommend clear blue?

First response is a good one to use!

I have only used a clear blue when I already knew I was pregnant just to see the words Blush

Have you taken vits or been trying long? My cycles gone from 28to 32/33 lately due to b6 in vits finally kicking in giving me a longer LP.

Did you ovulate later than normal? X

Hey ladies. Can I join! I'm 2 days late and am normally as regular as clock work. Have taken 3 pt all of which have come up as bfn :( have been trying ttc #2

I've used first response and clear blue as tesco's own is always sold out. Must be a popular month ;-)

I guess I am going to have to wait a few more days and hope af doesn't show up. She is being very mean this month!

I'm also symptom spotting like mad. My boobs are a different kind of sore and I am getting a lot of discharge, which I read could be am early sign of pregnancy but once again is it just wishful thinking?

It was so easy first time round :(

I'm in the same boat as you Needtochillax. I'm normally between 24-28 day cycle, but I'm now at day 30 (at least). I've never went past a 28 day cycle. 2 cheap pound shop tests showed the faintest of positive lines, but I had to squint and wonder if those were evaporation lines. A Boots test today was a BFN - no faint line at all.

Was unwell for 3 weeks since just after last months AF (headaches and dizziness) so am wondering if this is why I'm late. My MIL had said at the time that perhaps I'm going through the Menopause. I'm 38 - cheers for that!

We've not used any contraception since our ds was born 5 years ago. I would love another child, but I feel that if I was actually to get pregnant it'll be a miracle. So annoyed at my body playing tricks on me and anxious that I could be going through the early change of life Sad

Hi bettergetamoveon,

If there is a faint line maybe you are?? I can remember the line with my first and I did not see it, my husband had to point it out to me! During my evenings of googling I've also read that digital pregnancy tests are not as good as traditional tests at detecting early pregnancies. Was the boots test a digital one? Just wondering :-)

bettergetamoveon · 09/03/2014 22:50

chillax - the faint lines were all on traditional tests and showed up AGES later. I have another Boots test that I'll do in the morning. I'm so used to being disappointed that I'm really not trying to get my hopes up.

Hope you have some good news tomorrow - do you think you'll test?

This is torture!

Report
bettergetamoveon · 09/03/2014 22:51

Sorry, meant to say the Boots ones are also the traditional type.

You're right, it is torture. I'm going to leave it a couple of days before I test. Although I am off to the supermarket tomorrow so may not be able to resist temptation. Trying not to get my hopes up either. Been ttc for just under a year. Let me know what the results are in the morning, its nice sharing this stuff with someone! Fingers crossed :-)

BFN Sad
I'm definitely not testing for ages now. There wasn't even the faintest line and I'm now at least 3 days late. It's apparently a Boots 99% accurate one that you can use early. The last time I was pregnant I knew before I tested that I was and I got a positive 4 days before AF due.

Will keep you updated. Hope you have better results when you test.

Didn't need to get a test when I got to the supermarket as I came on instead. Fuck. Came home with sanitary products instead of a pt :-( keep me posted on your progress bettergetamoveon, I hope at least one of us gets some good news

I think I am on the same day as you (17dpo?) and I used First Response early result at 13dpo and then confirmed pregnancy with ClearBlue Digital at 14dpo. The cheapo test strip only started to have a faint line today. It may be too soon depending on the tests you are using although I don't know the Boots one. Maybe try one of the two I mentioned again and you may get a different result. Good luck.

Aw I was rooting for you Needtochillax, so sorry to hear your disappointing news. It's just horrible our bodies can play tricks on us Sad

artylady - if nothing happen today then I'll pop out tomorrow and buy once of those fancy tests. Congratulations to you! Let's hope I'm joining you (although I don't feel positive).

So at 7 days late I have finally got a BFP! It's faint but its definitely there. Hold strong ladies, I'd pretty much given up all hope but the non appearance of af meant that something was definitely array....and low and behold, faint but def a line
