I miscarried with my first pregnancy in December. I'm 39. Since then I've ovulated as normal. This month using clear blue fertility ovulation sticks I've had flashing smiley face for six days. I'm scared I'm not ovulating and I'm crumbling. Has anyone else experienced this and still ovulated?

Hi Paula - Sorry to hear of your loss. Do you mean the CB fertility monitor or CB ovulation kit?

I'm using the CB digital opk and I've had up to 3 flashing smilies or just 1 but there was another thread on here and several ladies were having in excess of 6/7 days of flashing smilies too. It could be you're having a slow rise but haven't reached your peak yet. My GP said this particular kit is very accurate.

Just so scared. My GP said they can be inaccurate so who knows?? I've got a private fertility appointment in a few weeks

Good luck with your appt. Unfortunately it can take a bit longer when you're a little older. I'm 40, mc last year (1st pg) and ttc for 7 months this time. I'm sure you know what you're doing but ask to have the egg count test (will tell you your ovarian reserve altho not the quality) and the 21 day progesterone test which will tell you if you have ovulated.

Paula, I used these tests this cycle. I got about 9 flashing smileys and no solids. I stopped testing after that as I didn't want to fork out £20 for another 10 sticks! I also worried I wan't ovulating because no peak fertility symbol. But yesterday I got a faint line on a preg test. Have since started bleeding so I don't think it is going to stick - but at least it means I must have ovulated. So try not to worry about that, and good luck with your appointment.

Any symptoms of pcos as that can cause high LH which is what the opks measure.
Irregular periods, excess hair, weight gain?
