using opk as pregnancy tests

I know this is a bit of a stupid question, but I've been doing ovulation tests since my last AF this month because we haven't had any luck so far so trying to make sure I totally understand my cycle.
Today the test was dark, not positive as it is not the same colour as the control line but it is very close. I did a bit of research and some people suggest this could be a sign of pregnancy whereas others say this always happens before AF. Just wondering what you ladies think about it? Thanks!

They do work as pregnancy tests, but you need a much higher level of HCG in your urine to get a positive on an opk than you do with a pregnancy test as they aren't as sensitive. If you think it could be that you're pregnant, take a test as if an opk says you are then any normal test will be a strong positive :)

Thanks for the info rockchick. Well I took another OPK this morn just to see if it was getting darker and it was as dark as the control line. Decided to poas (even though I was determined to wait till AF this month!! Blush ) and got a faint line!!! So excited but also so scared!!

I was wondering the same thing. Done one a couple of days ago and there was something there so I thought I would try it again and the line is a little more visible.

Am I just clutching here?!

I'm not sure what to think heard mixed things and wanted opinions. I'm on cd26 usually 25-27 days more recently once or twice 30days.
