I was feeling optimistic at the beginning of the week and today I just feel a bit down, I'm wondering if it's a self-preservation thing so that I don't get my hopes up.

I'm 13dpo CD27 due AF on Saturday. I've been having a few mild symptoms I think, unless I'm reading too much into everything, which is a high probability in this tww business, but today I feel nothing, no symptoms of any kind, not even normal pre AF symptoms.

The symptoms I've had could all possibly be put down to something else except that my boobs have been a bit tender at the sides near my armpits, mainly the right one, I only ever get tender BBs the week before AF but it's normally a different kind of tender and they've been this way since last week, which is way before AF is due. Today they still feel big but no way near as tender as they had been previously.

The only thing I feel I can hold on to is the fact that I haven't had any normal pre AF symptoms which I would have had normally by now, I'm hoping this is a good sign.

These next 2 days are going to be torture!

Hi colyflower, I've been where you are now and the wait really is hard. I just wanted to say that I too had (and have) symptoms that come and go. I first suspected i might be pregnant at about 7dpo because I was tired by 9pm and light headed when I stood up. The light headedness only happened a couple of times though...

I am now 13 weeks pregnant and for this whole time I've had symptoms that come and go. My boob pain in particular comes and goes. I think it's just to do with fluctuating hormone levels. My morning sickness also comes and goes. It's all normal though and I don't think you can base anything on it.

Very, very best of luck. X

Thanks Pinkandwhite, only time will tell! Feeling a bit more positive this evening, probably because I'm almost a day closer to finding out. I was going to test on Saturday but I'm going to test in the morning, not expecting anything but why not it's valentines day, we don't even celebrate valentines ha ha! Hoping that we'll have something else to celebrate instead.

I was like that. I was going to wait to test but curiosity got the better of me. I hope you get a positive!

AF arrived this morning and a day late, typical! I really did start to get my hopes by yesterday evening.

This was only our 2nd cycle so I'm trying to stay positive but I'm 37 now and it makes me a little worried that either it will take a long, long time or not at all. Is it worth going to my doctor, is there anything they can do to help people my age conceive? I want to throw everything I can at this next cycle.

Hi Colyflower. I think the general NHS advice is to see your GP after 6 months of ttc if you're over 36 ( 12 months if you're under.) I've found lots of helpful advice in these forums And in the general articles on Mumsnet. I looked up SMEP after reading about it on here, and also have been using Preseed.

Thanks yorkshirelass, I looked up SMEP and will give it a go, 3 days of dtd in a row might be a struggle ha ha but we'll definitely give it a go.

I haven't got preseed but I picked up something similar yesterday called Naturally Activ fertility gel so we'll give that a go, and I've got husband taking vitamins too and I'm cutting out all alcohol and coffee.

This time I'm not symptom spotting either, I must have ready every post on every symptom, I even came across posts of people having periods while pregnant yesterday, desperately grasping at straws, so no more googling for me this time!

Must admit I've not tried SMEP myself, But the every other day during fertile window idea has been more acheivable for us! I think Google creates more questions than answers, I have been terrible for looking up every symptom each month too. So hard not to get you're hopes up isn't it. Lots of support and positivity on here tho to keep you going through painful 2 week waits
