Anyone have brown bleeding for days before period?

Since coming off the pill in Au gustI have had 6-7 days of brown bleeding during luteal phase which is only around 10 days anyway.
I would say it is more than just spotting but less than normal period. Then it turns into a week of period. Thought it was implantation bleed but not!
Has anyone had similar? Worried I won't be able to conceive.

I have that for at least 2-3 days just before AF begins, which is then 3 days heavy, very light last 2 days. I have a luteal phase of 10-11 days. But my cycle can vary each month, 23-26 days. Generally ovulate 12-14 days in. Im only just properly TTC first time.

Yes, I get this and have done for years. I think it's connected to a hormone level dropping if it's cyclical. Not sure if it affects fertility or not, but may be age related. It only happened to me once I got to mid thirties.

Least I'm not the only one! rockstars12 you'll have to let me know if you get lucky! Would make me feel better!
ihearthuckabees I'm only 28 so mine won't be age related. I tried to talk to the doc about it last month and she just said 'we tend not to look into it too much until a year of trying.' But how the hec is a poor lil' egg supposed to cling on when i'm bleeding? It has no chance!

I had this when I started TTC last year. I sorted it by taking a high volume of vitamin b complex all month (think 200mgish but info is out there if you google it). It sorted it and I got pregnant.

The vitamin b shortage causes low progesterone I think. Something like that.

I've had it for 2 yrs now. Am 43. Panicked that it's menopause or something worrying. Had lots of blood tests. Only thing that came back was low vit d.

I don't get it every month, but its not unusual for it to happen 2-3 days before AF. It's old blood. Apparently there was another post on here not so long ago saying that if you spot before AF and its usual for you, it probably means you have been unsuccessful that month.

Good luck in TTC.

Yeah I get this now. Have had it every month for the last 4 months. Have been ttc number 1 for 14 months now. Initial tests are all positive so waiting on next steps.
Normally 7days before af is due I get browny/pink discharge on and off and then af comes. I know BFP ain't going to happen but still have a small hope it may happen.
Think I'll try vitamin b complex and see how we get on

I spot before my periods...except for the time I conceived my baby, when there was nothing!

It's not necessarily a problem in my experience but I spent a lot of time whilst TTC agonising over it. Interestingly the cycle I conceived what turned into a mmc I spotted as usual and kept on spotting.

I get this spotting sometimes, lasts a day or two before AF properly starts as if period is trying to get going but can't quite manage it. Have 2 DCs and had no problems conceiving them. I do find the spotting is stress related, I had it more in my late teens/early 20s when I was stressed with exams (and before I had children).

I had this when I came off the pill and it drove me mad! It would start at 7dpo
B vitamins did help.
I had a couple of chemicals as well and was convinced that low progesterone was my problem.
When I got my BFP with DD I had had no spotting at all.
I did take progesterone and heparin and successfully had my daughter.
Interestingly I no longer get brown spotting before AF since having her.

Yes I had this, started around 6 days before my period, so around 5dpo every month. Conceived my son after seven months TTC and didn't get any spotting that month, which is what tipped me off! Now five months into TTC number 2, and don't get the spotting anymore. Now have the odd incredibly long weird cycle instead.

As I entered my thirties, I began to have two days or so of brown spotting before my period. I know this does not affect my fertility, because I've had a child since then, even with the spotting.
But there were also several times in the past decade that I began having this spotting, as you say, up to a week before my actual period began.
And each of these times, it turned out I had polyps- I've had a polyp removed twice now from my cervix and twice from my uterus. I seem to be quite prone to them.
These polyps are nearly always benign- mine always have been, and I've read that they can contain malignant cells in less than 1% of cases- but doctors like to remove them anyway, just to be sure, and also for relief of symptoms such as spotting and sometimes bleeding between periods or after sex.
Having a cervical polyp removed is simple; they do it in the office, without anesthesia. Since the polyps are usually tiny and hang by a thin stalk, they simply pull it off with tweezers, then send it to a lab to make sure it's benign. I personally could not even feel this. The polyp itself has no nerve endings. It is simply an overgrowth of tissue.
Having a uterine polyp removed is more difficult. It requires day surgery (a d&c) and anesthesia. They scrape out the lining of the uterus, and the polyps along with it. But it's still not too terrible. No real pain afterward, and back to work the next day.

I only mention this because both cervical and uterine polyps are common; apparently about 20% of women get at least one. They are most common in women past thirty, who have given birth multiple times. In rare cases, they can impede conception- a cervical polyp can grow large enough to partially block the opening of the cervix, not allowing sperm through, and a uterine polyp can act as a natural IUD, preventing a fertilized egg from implanting. So of you are trying to conceive, it is best to get checked for polyps and have them removed, if they are present, as they could be hindering your efforts.

The most common- and often the only- symptom of them is spotting for several days before your period.

This information may or may not be helpful or applicable in your case, but it's what I've learned in my six or seven years of dealing with polyps, so I like to put it out there, when I hear of other women dealing with these symptoms.
Above all, remember that if you have one, it's not a big deal. More of a nuisance problem than anything else. They are almost never malignant, and are easily removed (although do tend to recur in some women).
Apparently they are caused by estrogen, so after menopause, they are very uncommon.

Thanks so much for your replies guys. By the sounds of it, I probably have low progesterone and coming off the pill is a factor. My dark bleed apparently was my period this month as had 6 days and now stopped, no bfp at 14dpo so not pregnant. Think my body is finally settling after the pill!
It started at 6dpo so think I need vitamin b complex to lengthen that window and try for next time! Fingers crossed for next month everyone!!! X

I could have written your post myself, also came of the pill in aug and although I have had regular 28 day cycles I spot every month before af. Last month at 5dpo. I also have a short lp. Last month I started taking b6 but thought you had to stop at ovulation so did and spotting continued. This month after ov I upped the b6 and I'm taking 1 in the morning and 1 at night. I'm now 10 dpo and haven't had any spotting. Not sure if it's just coincidence but makes me feel better that I think I have some control of the situation. Good luck :)
