Anyone have any varicocele embolisation success stories?

Hi. I don't quite know if this is the right place to post but I guess I'm just hoping to hear some positivity and feel some hope.

DH and I have two children who each were conceived in the first month ttc. Both were textbook pregnancies and births.

DH has has a varicocele since before we even got together and when we concieved our 2 DC he was surfing in cold water several times a week (I now think the cold water was counteracting the over heating aspect of the varicocele). This surfing has pretty much stopped since our second DC was born 4 1/2 years ago due to too many work and family committments.

We have been ttc no. 3 since July 2010. We have had two devastating mmc and although my initial tests (hormones and US scan) have come back as normal, DH has been diagnosed with abnormal sperm. Something like 99% abnormal, though his count was really very good.

The doctor believes that the varicocele is to blame for our problems ttc and possibly for the two mmc's and DH is booked in for a varicocele embolisation on 14th Feb (Happy Valentines day sweetheart!).

Has anyone been through or know of someone who's been through anything similar and managed to conceive and have a healthy baby?

We'd really like a little rainbow, but don't want to pin our hopes on it being as easy as 'just the embolisation'.

Thanks for reading and for any words you may be able to offer in response.

Really late entry on this, but thought I'd write incase you see this.

I was diagnosed with a varicocele, grade 2, after some time trying to conceive our second child. SA showed count approx 1m so very low!

Took the plunge and had an embolisation procedure at the end of October last year (2014) and we've just discovered that we're pregnant. Hard to tell exactly if it's a direct result of the procedure or not given conception would have been only 2 months after (and sperm production apparently takes 2 to 2 months) but it's good news none the less so thought I'd share it with anyone who was looking for some good news stories!

Hi all, looking for the most efficient and cost effective way to sort male fertility issue - bilateral varicocele. Would be helpful to know where you did it as we are desperate, we can’t get to blastocyst even though using ICSI! I never knew that dna fragmentation can’t be resolved by ICSI. We were suggested to do multiple freezing and try Imsi but would rather sort the root cause first. Thanks for your tips. I guess NHS will not treat it and we have to go privately?
