Would you class 'the day you ovulated' as the day you get a positive opk? I know they only detect the LH surge but I just wondered if that's what you do. I had a very dark positive opk this lunchtime so I know I am due to actually ovulate in the next 12-36 hours or so.... We've been having sex every other day so far (last time being day before yesterday) so want to do it again today. It's hard because our other kids are here ;) If I don't manage it today, what do you reckon chances of getting preggers considering last time we dtd? Cheers ladies X

Sperm can live for up to 5 days, so in theory you could if you ovulate at the earlier end of the 12-36 hours. If you can't DTD tonight I'd make sure to do it tomorrow - your egg lives for 12 hours so it's giving you an extra shot (so to speak!) at it being the right time :)

I go around and around with this decision - and I even get some ov pain. I see this as a good reason to DTD a couple more times to be sure.

Oh, i just remembered, I read in the mythical somewhere (sorry i cannot remember the source) youre LH rises through the day to the afternoon. I test in the morning, so I guess really the LH surge is from the day before for me, putting me at probable ovulation day that day?
