What does Ovulation pain feel like?

I think I should be ovulating around now. I've had a sharp stitch like pain in one side, over where I think my ovary should be...

But I do suffer from IBS and suspected Endo, so it could well be related to that.

I'm just interested - those who have experienced ovulation pain, what does it feel like? Is it more like period cramps?

Mine is like a stitch and sometimes it moves around to my back.

I'm never sure if I get ov pain or not but around the time I expect ovulation I get a really intense achey feeling on one side, sometimes quite sharp if I move suddenly. Not crampy as such, just really uncomfortable.

It is like a very concentrated stitch, a bit like the awkward sharp feeling you can get sometimes if you sneeze while sitting in a bad position (or is that just me?)

Get mild cramps sometimes too. But there are other signs for ovulation which are way more noticeable than mittelschmertz!

That's exactly what I'm feeling.

I know about EWCM and Cervix position, but I'm still a little confused and thought I may have ov'd already - but this pain suggests it might be happening..

So does the pain come before, during, or after ov?

(I know there is no general rule.. but anyone have any experience?)

I get sometimes crippling pain during ovulation. It is literally when the egg is released, I get the worst trapped wind type pain, and if sat down, cant even lift a leg up off the floor.

My insides (one side each month) feel scraped and scratched (am.assuming egg travelling down the fallopian tube) and it tales a good six/eight hours to full go away (though it subsides gradually).

I hate it, and was one of the reasons I went on the pill, but obviously had to stop that when ttc.

Since having dd they have been less severe. However I am a little grateful I can feel that I am.ovulating.

A sharp ache on one side (occasionally enough to make me have to gasp, sit down or stop what I am doing quite suddenly with the pain) followed by a dull ache for a few hours!

I only ever get it on my right hand side, which worries me slightly, as I think this might suggest I'm only releasing an egg from one ovary?

Or hopefully that ovary is releasing every month (I get the pain every month on that side).

Mine's like a stitch too, lasts about 3 hrs, next day or so I get EWCM and bonk like crazy, from pain to end of EWCM. Mine is bang on 14 days in a 28 day cycle. Last time I also felt implantation (sadly ended in MC.) very in tune with my body these days.

Mine's a dull ache, on one side. It starts with a few twinges around CD4 and ramps up towards ov. When I ov on the left side I get the painful bloating/trapped wind feeling Mortified describes, but not when I ov from the other side.

last month i felt very bloated and had dull cramps for about 3 hours, almost like AF. came home and tested and got a strong line on an ov test, so think that was it!

This month it felt like someone had kicked me in my abdomen, followed by a lot of twinges and pinching on both sides. I could barely walk for a few hours. I am told I most probably released more than one egg this month. Other months I only got pinching feelings on left or right.

I still have the stitch like pain in my abdomen. It's not bad, it's just niggling, and my back is now aching as well. Hurts more when I move about, and (TMI) hurt when I had sex.

This has gone on too long to be Ov pain hasn't it (4 days). I'm really worried about Endo (I'm having investigations).

Has anyone else's Ov pain gone on this long?
