Mid cycle bleed... negative OPK

So we're TTC. I use ovulation test kits, meaning... the Clearblue Digital (not monitor) and the cheap stick ones you dip into the urine.

I should be ovulating any time between this Wednesday and Saturday - depending on whichever app I should be using. And yet, I have not had a positive OPK so far.

Today, I go to the loo, and there's drops of blood on the tissue. What is that?!? If that was ovulation bleed, should I not be getting a positive OPK???

I have googled this a bit, have seen similar posts elsewhere, but that didn't really provide any clarity. Can you guys help???

I don't really know much about OPK's but mid-cycle spotting can be an implantation bleed if you ovulated early, although I don't want to build up your hopes. How are you charting your cycle? Are you just using dates or checking your cervical mucous? What's that telling you?

I was hoping to just use OPKs. Never did temping as it seems to be all over the place with me - erratic sleep pattern may play a part. While CM use to be there in abundance when we were not trying, I hardly see any of it now. I've even started wearing dark undies.

I'm 34 going on 35, and I do have suspected PCOS (scan didn't show anything, but GP still thinks I have a mild version). Have to register with a new GP soon as we've moved, but if we're not successful for another few months, we might try medication...

Given all that going on, I don't think you can read much into it. Most women have the odd month where they don't ovulate. You might have ovulated but have a glitchy test. You might be implanting. You might be bleeding from sex or you might have a urine infection that you don't know about (in which case, get to the Dr). It really could be a number of things.

I think you just need to give it time and follow your GP's advice. How long have you been trying? Good luck though and enjoy the practising. Smile

Great. It has now turned into an early AF.

What on earth is going on? Going to register with new GP now (we have moved this month), and hope for an appointment next week.

Sorry to hear that, snowbells. Is it definitely early? When was your last ovulation? If you do have some form of pcos, it could be down to this of course.

Yep, definitely early. Don't even know when my last ovulation was, because OPK was never positive (should have happened this week).
