How long can a luteal phase last? I've read different things on different websites anything ranging from 10-17 is this right or can it go on longer?

I think the norm is between 10 and 17 days but i would think it is possible for it to be shorter or longer. I know they say it can be a problem if its shorter than 10 days so it must happen. It can also be different each month aswell. Mine so far have been 13 days, 15 days and 13 days.

I've been told that your luteal phase does not usually change significantly from month to month (but changes in length gradually over time). But the first part of your cycle can vary in length, as can the time between the opk being positive and ovulation happening. it could be that you have ovulated on different days/ times of day than you think??

A luteal phase that varies by 3 days (e.g. 13 days, sometimes 12 and sometimes 14) is usual and can be explained by ovulating at different time of day and changes in the time it takes for AF to arrive after your progesterone levels drop.

I have also been told that it is rare to have a luteal phase of 18+ days (and if you're temping 18 days of high temperatures indicates you are pregnant).

Babyrose it sounds like your average is 14 but sometimes differs by 2 days or so, which would fit in with your cycles so far.

Thanks, the only way I've been checking for ovulation is cm. It all started very early at cd 8 and was over by 10/11 its only time I get ewcm and I completely dry up. Then a wk later I had watery cm with brown/pink but different to what ovulation is.

Now today is cd27 and 16dpo which is what is confusing me if I ovulated early then I should have got my period earlier?

Do you count luteal phase up to the day you get your period or is it the day before??

Luteal phase is from the day after ovulation til the day before your af. Correct me if I'm wrong.
