Advice re OPK please-very early smiley face

This is my second month using an OPK (clearblue digital that tells you when you are both high and peak fertility). Last month I didn't get a high fertility sign at all (flashing smiley face), it just went straight to peak fertility (fixed smiley face). This was on day 12 which was a couple of days earlier than expected but still seemed normal.

I only finished my period a couple of days ago but started using the opk straight away as my cycles vary a bit (26-30 days). Today (day 8) I got a high fertlity sign. Surely this is too early?

So, we had sex last night just for fun rather than baby making but now I'm thinking should we do it again tonight as I got the high (but not peak) fertility sign or shall we just start doing it every other day until I get the peak fertility smiley face. I don't want to exhaust DH and his swimmers but don't want to miss the window either.

Sounds like it's all happening, Business. Quite exciting!

Sorry you got your AF early, Blamber. At least you should be referred at a specialist now though and hopefully they can find out what's going on quickly so that you can get to the bottom of it. When do you get the reults? Good luck with your interviews also!!

Hope all is well with you, BNmum. Did you find out what you're having in the end?

How's it all going, kabgab?

I'm 8+3 now. Had booking appt with mw on Fri. Terrible all day sickness at the moment so feeling v. rough. Hoping it passes soon.

How did you get on with your scans business.

Sorry to hear that af turned up blamber, a short luteal phase is rubbish. I'm pleased to hear that the docs are taking it seriously though and hope you get a quick referral. If your test results show low progesterone will they put you on something like cyclogest? Have they tested your thyroid?
Good luck with the interviews!

Hi charley, lovely to hear you are getting ever closer to your first scan date. The nausea is rotten but hopefully it's short lived, unfortunately I can't really offer any advice advice as i didnt find a cure. The best was probably some twinnings lemon & ginger tea.

We're having another boy which came as a shock, I had though I was carrying a girl this time. I'm pleased we found out as that feeling was getting stronger (goes to show I have no clue!) and I would have been shock in the delivery room.

I hope everyone has a nice week

blamber Thu 28-Nov-13 10:25:48

BNmum, congrats! How exciting, a boy! I'm not sure you can really feel yourself what the gender is, because you always have a 50% chance of being right anyway! Or of being wrong in your case grin

I saw the GP and the progesterone was indeed too low. He still was hesitant to refer me, wanted to wait till the year of ttc was up. I got very upset, almost started crying and told him surely the progesterone shows there might be something wrong which would justify an earlier referral. He agreed! I'm so glad he did. So now it's waiting for the appointment! He still thinks there's nothing wrong, it's just the pill according to him, and I most likely do ovulate because the blood test doesn't 100% tell you whether you ovulate or not. Hopefully, we'll see anyway.

blamber Thu 28-Nov-13 10:32:43

Forgot to say, BNmum, the GP doesn't prescribe progesterone, that would have to be done by a specialist. I have hypothyroidism, but my levels were checked a few months ago and last Monday and they're fine.

BNmum Thu 28-Nov-13 12:49:43

Hi blamber I'm so pleased that the doctor saw sense and has referred you. Fingers crossed you don't have to wait too long for an appointment and as your gp has been relatively proactive and ran a few tests this should hopefully speed up the process once you do get to see the consultant. Good luck and pleased keep us posted on your progress.

Hi BNmum , Blamber and charley.

Congrats on having a boy BNmum .

I had the scan on Wed 27th Nov and the Doc counted the size of the follicles and they were ready to be collected, so on the Fri 29th Nov which was supposed to be my next scan, i had them collected and they was 10 in total, on the Sat I had a phone call from the nurse, she told me 8 matured but only 3 fertilised, i had to start taking cyclogest which i dont like sad. Then on Wed 4th Dec I had one blastocyst transfered back into me and the other 2 frozen.

So i ave to wait now grin

blamber Fri 06-Dec-13 15:22:46

oh business, wow what an exciting time! So how long till you can test? I have my fingers crossed for you!

BNmum Mon 09-Dec-13 13:49:46

Wow! Good luck business, will you be testing around new year?

How's things with everyone else? Everyone ready for crimbo?

Feelingfatty Mon 09-Dec-13 16:59:10

Thought I would come back and let you all know how I'm doing! I've been watching you all but found it difficult to keep up with the forums whilst ttc was taking so long! Anyway I found out today I'm finally pregnant! It's bambi27 by the way name changed after I decided to try not to obsesses over ttc!

Feelingfatty Mon 09-Dec-13 16:59:39

Bnmum you had your baby!! Just read! Congrats!!! Xx

Feelingfatty Mon 09-Dec-13 17:00:24

Reread again found out you're having a boy!!! I didn't think it had been that long!!!

BNmum Tue 10-Dec-13 13:47:51

Haha! Welcome back bambi/fatty and congratulations! No baby yet, just growing to the size of a house. How far gone are you, how are you feeling?

Tell us your ttc story, did you just try and forget about things and fall preggers? Congratulations again, that's great news x

Feelingfatty Tue 10-Dec-13 15:36:00

Ah how far along are you now Bnmum? I'm not due on until tomorrow so only just 4 weeks!! Going to be (hopefully) a long pregnancy!! Well weirdly we had just started the ball rolling with being tested as been over a year and I had my 21 day test/internal this month and all results fine and then bam pregnant!! Think it's because we weren't thinking about it this month as thinking about tests!! grin

charleylarlie Tue 10-Dec-13 16:21:36

Hey, Bambi / feelingfatty. Congrats, I'm so pleased for you! I've often wondered how you are. Great to see you back! I'm now 10+3, so not much further along than you. It must have been a relief for the tests to come back clear and then to get even better news!

I'm suffering from bad morning sickness, which has been pretty constant since week 5. Plus I'm getting over the lurgy that I caught from DS which has pretty much wiped me out for the past week, hence why I've been quiet on here.

Congratulations on finding out you're having a boy, BNmum. How are you doing otherwise?

How exciting, Business. It's all happening for you. When are you able to test?

I'm glad your doctor saw sense in the end, Blamber. I think I'd have got upset too. Hopefully things can start to happen for you now. How are you doing?

How are you, kabgab? Have you started the meds yet?

Feelingfatty Tue 10-Dec-13 17:11:19

Ah hi Charlie! Ah wow! I'm not looking forward to the sickness kicking in, last time with dd it kicked in about week 7 so we will see! Oh 10 weeks nearly 12 week scan!! So exciting and can finally tell people!! I also have the lurgy so feeling rubbish!!

businessadmin Tue 10-Dec-13 21:42:53

Hi BNmum and charleylarlie, Is it about 2 weeks till i ave to test.

How long did use wait . grin

BNmum Fri 13-Dec-13 16:20:41

That's fab fatty, whatever the reason I'm just pleased it happened for you. Is dd looking forward to Christmas?

Have you had a date come through for your 12week scan charley? Exciting times! I hope the sickness wears off soon, it's no fun.

Not long to go then business, although it probably feels like forever to you. I've got my fingers crossed!

I'm 26 weeks and doing pretty well. People are saying that i'm blooming which i think is a polite way of saying "shit! You're looking pretty big!" grin.
Unfortunately we also have the lurgy on our house and all our friends seem to be suffering too. I'm not sleeping very well as i'm getting bigger, awake seeing to ds (calpol, carvol or nose wiping) or elbowing dh in the ribs to stop snoring. I hope i can avoid it and that everyone is well recovered before Christmas.

How's things kab and blamber?

businessadmin Sat 14-Dec-13 22:53:49

Hi BNmum ,

I was given date tomorrow 15th December to test, but i tested today 14th December and i got positive result. But goin to test again tomorrow anyway to make sure.

I was asking is it 2 weeks that u ave to wait, how long did use wait to test

charleylarlie Sun 15-Dec-13 15:07:48

Oh wow, congrats Business! That's excellent news, you must be over the moon. smile I'm not sure how many dpo I was as the month I got my bfp we ditched the temping and opks so I honestly haven't a clue. I think it was prob before 14 days though.

Hope you're feeling better BNmum. Can't believe you're 26 weeks already. Does it feel like it's going any quicker this time around? I've still got the lurgy, which combined with the ms isn't exactly a joy. I've got my scan in 8 days time, can't come soon enough.

How are you doing, feelingfatty? Has the news sunk in yet?

Any news, kabgab and blamber?

Feelingfatty Sun 15-Dec-13 16:58:02

Ohh Charlie a scan!! Exciting!!! I'm feeling good, really tired but good! Yeah weirdly sunk in quite well and feeling really optimistic! Hopefully that will stay and will have a happy and healthy pregnancy!!

BNmum Sun 15-Dec-13 20:01:58

Whoa hoo! Congrats business, what a lovely christmas pressie. I hope this recent spurt of positives rubs off on everyone else still ttc.

I was about 6 weeks before I tested. I was on a crazy long cycle so didn't think I'd even ovulated that month. It was only when hubby say I was starting to look podgy so must be preggers that I tested grin

8days! That's great news charley. I hope you are feeling better soon and the morning sickness doesn't add to your list of illnesses.

Hear hear to that fatty, fingers crossed everyone has a happy and healthy pregnancy!

businessadmin Mon 16-Dec-13 14:28:56
