So who's next in line for that BFP???

Solars Wed 15-May-13 10:21:15

Sorry Face I've not read it.

Dib & Dab is a great name, Sweetie I'm still in shock for you too!

I have already been and come back home from the clinic, I couldn't believe how busy it was at 7.30 in the morning, now just waiting for the call that bloods are good, if so I'm in at the same time tmrw for more bloods, scan and drugs teaching session!

ControlGeek Wed 15-May-13 10:26:31

<squeee> thank you for our new home solars I hadn't realised how full our old one was!

cartoontrickster Wed 15-May-13 10:26:46

fingers crossed solars
loving the new place by the way!

ControlGeek Wed 15-May-13 10:30:05

Arghh posted too soon. Means to say brooking for your bloods solars, I think you will be leading our little pack of assisted cycles smile

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 15-May-13 10:33:24

Brooking for good blood results Solars

Geek yes twins do run in my side of the family, none in DH's though smile

Face I have read the ice cream girls, I can't remember the ending. I've still got the book so I could dig it out for you.

Well I've still not heard from the clinic, I've tried calling a few times but its constantly engaged.

cartoontrickster Wed 15-May-13 10:43:34

brill cups if you wouldn't mind flicking to the end to check for me. I don't have the book anymore. I know who I think it was I won't say incase anyone is reading it though!

EverythingIsTicketyBoo Wed 15-May-13 10:50:23

Ooh lovely new home smile brooking for those blood results.

BlindKitty Wed 15-May-13 10:59:12

geek thanks for new home!

sweetie pmsl at Mary and Joseph, afraid they win over dib and dab!!! Still can't get over how thrilled you must have been when they said there were 2 heartbeats! What did dh say? X

BeedlesPineNeedles Wed 15-May-13 11:49:47

solars I think if your bloods are OK (brooking they are) then you will be leading the way with the next lot of BFPs. Thanks for making our new home, I can't believe you've not done a thread before though shock

Unless of course kitty has been "relaxing" on holiday and "not thinking about ttc", in which case she will surely be next grin

keepitgoing Wed 15-May-13 12:06:21

I think in ivf the chance of splitting embryos is about 2%, so maybe 4% as you have 2... X

Ps, I like kip, thanks cup

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 15-May-13 12:10:02

Face I've just pm you, I don't think I've been much help though as I'm a bit confused myself!

I've just got through to the clinic, I've been told no one has been able to look my notes as they are too busy. I still might not hear until tomorrow. I'm so bloody pissed off. I'm sure they are going to turn me down, I don't need all this waiting angry

TheLittleFriend Wed 15-May-13 12:21:10

Gah, posted on the old thread!

Sweetie, I've said it on antenatal thread, but I'll say it again, massive congratulations on the twins!!

And Face, congratulations to you too my love. Brooking hard for a healthy and happy pregnancy.

<waves to all and offers round 3-month-old-yesterday ds for cuddles>

SweetieTime Wed 15-May-13 12:48:44

Solars loving the new thread. I am sure there will be lots of BFPs as you say with or without assistance. Brooking my best brooking socks off for each and everyone of you

Cup they sound rubbish, it really makes you fume doesn't it!! It is such a sensitive subject they are dealing with you would think they would hire compassionate people to answer calls. You should seriously complain it is not good enough.

keep the nurse was telling us yesterday that they had recently had a patient give birth to quads from a single embie. OMG can you lot imagine the possibilities??? She said it was reported in the Sun the same time as the Mail story of the couple who had quads from 2 embies but I couldn't find it

ControlGeek Wed 15-May-13 13:28:37

solars your BFP is now guaranteed - sweetie started the last thread and got her BFP. Hopefully this is the start of a new trend.

cups that's just awful. I have no idea how clinics are set up but is there the equivalent of a practice manager or a duty manager that you can complain to? That is a horrible, insensitive way of dealing with their customers. Are you happy with your care there in other respects? I can't remember if this is NHS funded or private, sorry.

sweetie I'd missed the Mary & Joseph comment, that is utterly hilarious! Do it grin <-- evil, me! And as for quads from a SET - crikey! No wonder they sold their story to a newspaper even the Sun - they'd need the money to pay for the childcare!

<waves to little and snaffles some three-month-old cuddles>

It seems it's not just MrG who can say the wrong thing... We were in the pub last night (I completely forgot about my meds and had a couple of pints blush) and I came clean and told him I was worried about his health and how he would cope with a baby. I said to him 'What if your back's too bad to pick them up out of the cot? Or play with them on the floor? Or throw a ball for them when they're a toddler?... Oh, wait, that's dogs isn't it? blush'

Perhaps I'm not cut out for motherhood just yet.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 15-May-13 14:00:02

Geek grin I have an image of you playing fetch with a toddler! It's not a bad idea as it might tire them out grin

I'm NHS so I guess what do I expect?! I'm sure if we were paying it would be a different story. The clinic seems to work very different to others from what I've read. I suppose I've not waited long so far really, I'm mean I was only referred in November. The nurse I spoke to today was at least polite, she listened to me and went to check that my notes are there waiting to be dealt with. I was worried I had been forgotten but she assured me they are at the top of the pile. I just don't understand how it can take so long to decide. I think it is possible to transfer funding over to a private clinic if you are not happy with this clinic. I think we have to do the first cycle here though.

NoMaybeAboutIt Wed 15-May-13 14:05:48

Oh Geek you are more than cut out to be a mum now. Of this I am sure.

4 babies Sweetie shock

Solars any news on the results yet?

Cups we are NHS funded too, and we have had no problems. Is there another clinic nearby?

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 15-May-13 14:16:14

There are other clinics but they are private. I know people have care transferred but I think they still end up waiting a far bit of time at the other clinics. From looking on fertility friends it looks unusual to wait this long to find out about being accepted. Every time they have called I've been told they are having an unusually busy time. I just want to know if we are going to be turned down so I can come to terms with it and get on with another natural cycle. I've not stopped looking at my phone for the past 3 days!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 15-May-13 14:25:09

Well I've finally had the phone call back to say we can't have the treatment this cycle. I'm so upset, I don't think the 3 day wait has helped. I'm so sick of waiting.

ControlGeek Wed 15-May-13 14:30:33

Oh cup huuuuuge hugs and lots of wine to you. Bloody clinic. I thought mine were a bit shoddy but yours takes the biscuit. On the positive side, it doesn't matter how 'unusually busy' they are next month, they have to take you no matter what. I definitely think a complaint is in order though. They seem to have forgotten they are dealing with human beings. (((more hugs)))

NoMaybeAboutIt Wed 15-May-13 14:37:49

Oh Cups I'm so sorry. They are such arses. But as Geek says, next month is THE month. And I too would complain

cartoontrickster Wed 15-May-13 14:41:34

cups how gutting. I don't really know how these things work. do you know why they've said no? can you complain?
sorry if I'm being nosy.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 15-May-13 14:46:13

That's the worst part, the nurse said on the phone they can refuse treatment 3 times. So we could still get turned down next month. I obviously misunderstood the consultant. She says its because of the teach appointments that they are struggling to fit people in not due to booking people in for EC/ET. Talk about ironic, I don't even really need a bloody teach appointment. I already know how to give injections. She said everyone has to go to the teach appointments even if your a doctor or a nurse. I cried on the phone to her, so embarrassed. She said she will put a note on seeing if there is anyway I can be squeezed in next month but I doubt that will make any difference.

BeedlesPineNeedles Wed 15-May-13 15:04:02

Oh cups I'm sorry you have to wait again. I could understand if they were too busy to fit you in for EC/ET (that's why I'm DRing 3 weeks as they were already full for EC the week before I'll be having it IYSWIM). But surely as you're a nurse thye can book you in a bit earlier than normal for your teaching session, and have it this month even if you don't start stabbing till next month.
And how long does it take? My appointment on Monday is for a dildocam and stabbing lesson grin and its only 1 hour. How can they not have enough nurses for those appointments? I do hope they get you sorted out soon (hugs)

cartoontrickster Wed 15-May-13 15:09:49

cups that's shit. I'm not suprised you got upset. nothing to be embarrassed about. ummm here wine
