TTC has me losing my mind. CD39, no AF, many many BFNs.

Hello, this is my first post, but have been reading through forums and there seems to be lots of lovely people in here. (Please forgive me if i get the abbreviations wrong!!)

Hubby and I have been TTC for 7 months, and I am guilty of POAS more times than I'd like to admit, and imagining sysmptoms like you wouldn't believe every month since last October.

My cycles are fairly regular (30 days), and I can't get my head around testing for ovulation or temping, so we're just BD as and when (we live apart, so am trying to instigate it as often as possible when we're together), and I've been recording my visits from AF on an app for the past few months.

My normal cycle involves a bit of spotting on day one, followed by a day of very little if anything, and then 3 days of full blown AF. I've never been more than a day late in my life, but this month, I've had spotting on and off since the day I was due on (20th April). This makes me 10 days late by my reckoning, and having tested once or twice (a day) I have only had BFNs.

I don't know what's going on, and I'm losing my mind here. I'm pretty convinced the BFNs are accurate, and I'm not pregnant (although I'd LOVE a BFP) but does anyone have any idea what this is??

The only thing I can think of to explain is a bit of recent stress, however that's never affected my monthly cycle in the past, and I've defo been more stressed at other times in my life.

Thanks x

Hi and welcome to mn.

There are only really two possibilities for you! One being that you ovulated late or had an annovulatory period this month and you are not pregnant and you period will eventually appear (if an annovulatory cycle you could just skip a period this month)

The other option is that you are pregnant but it is not showing up on the tests yet ! Some women do not get a positive test til they are two weeks late (some never get a positive test!).

Unfortunately the only way to get an answer is to wait! It is hard waiting, but if you are pregnant then eventually you should know. Perhaps try to distract yourself, try not yo drive yourself crazy testing so much.

I hope you get the answer you want soon.

Thanks for the reply willitbe. I'd love to be pregnant, and I do feel like I have symptoms, which is making it hard to accept I'm probably not. That and the constant spotting.

Driving me nuts!

I don't want to raise your hopes but I didn't get a bfp until day 42! I took a test at day 39 and got a bfn. Got drunk on day 41 as was so miserable about yet another month gone by with no bfp, poas next morning while hungover and bfp popped up straight away.

I know this might sound odd, but there seems to be a lot of this about, this month! I just really have AF today, 7 data late. There have been several threads like this this week. My theory is that it has something to do with the weather. In nature, animal's cycles are governed by light levels and temperature. In the last few weeks the weather has suddenly got a lot warmer and the sun has come out. It's messing with everyone's hormone levels and ovulation. We will all level out next month, be full of vitamin D and positivity and we will all be upduffed by this time in May! Grin

Thanks for your comments. AF arrived this morning, I'm having dreadful cramping and feel miserable, but at least I now know one way or the other.

Try again this month.
