Should I keep taking these vits

I did my first proper month of temping last month and, according to the Fertility Friend app, ovulated on day 18 and got my period on day 29 so a luteal phase of 11 days.

Thought I'd take some B vitamins this month and was convinced I wasn't ovulating as no temp rise. Well until day 23!! I'm now on day 31 and no AF. (My cycle is usually 26 days, last months 29 was very unusual)

Does anyone have any experience of a shorter luteal phase? Should I keep taking the vitamins

? Or should I dump them - are they messing with ovulation?

Hi, not sure if it will help but there is a natural fertility expert that I have read a few posts on another site and I know she has posted about supplements before now may be worth taking a look or sending her a message she would probably be able to tell you if it is the vitamins that have had an impact or not? Hope this helps! forum.prideangel.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=532 Let us know how you get on, good luck xxx

Hi there!
I am in the same boat as you, been ttc for 16 months, waiting for appt ar fertility clinic so used OPKs for the first time and got LH surge on cd20, so ov on 21-22, soo carried on DTD for an extra week after the calendar says i should. usually have a regular 28 day cycle. as soon as i found out about late ov and short luteal phase ( if this is what my body has been doing every month my lp is only 6-7 days)I went out and got some B6 and a b complex. was expecting AF on thursday, still no sign of it yet! I now dont know if i have concieved, am just late or of B6 has made me late by lengthening lp. bit of a bloody nightmare, but am going to continue with the vits, if i am pg am hoping B6 will prevent AF from turning up and causing mc. have a sneaky suspicion this may have been what has happened when i have been late a couple of times in past year.
I am carrying on with vits and wating for appt at FC

Let me know how it goes Trying!

Still no AF here, five days late. However ov was 5 days late so am expecting AF tomorrow!

Have you been doing your temp as well as the sticks? They show hormones but that doesn't mean you have actually ovulated iyswim Smile

Hi
am still waiting for AF, not letting myself POAS until thursday.
Have been having right sided twinges the last few days so think it may be on its way, though i dont usualy get and cramps at all really.
Unfortunately i have not been temping as my body has a bit of trouble regulating mine so i do not have a regular base line temp (varies from 37.3-37.8 most of the time but can be higher! was 38.4 yesterday) have had this checked by docs ( i am a nurse so terrible patient he he and check it at work and at home) have done the usual thyroid and hormone tests and ruled out any reason for this - no other symptomns to point towards something sinister I also do shift work so cannot chart my temp at the same time every day as its meant to be after 3 hours rest and i am not setting my alarm clock for 6am on days off or late shift days!

heres to hoping af stays away Smile

I had a short luteul phase and lengthened it with b6 to oncieve.it worked within 6 weeks after 3 yrs of tying and mc. You need to be taking at Lear 50mg for it to work, anything less just doesn't touch the ides. For me it isn't change my ov day just lengthened my lp. Just so you know my dr once pregnant told me to keep n taking the vitamins.
Lt of thins used to make me ov later - holidays, stress, etc

Ok well AF finally got me today, cycle day 34. The B vits haven't lengthened my luteal phase at all - just made me ovulate five days later and get my period five days later!

I think I'm going to dump the B vits. I have had a regular cycle for years - am thinking I should leave my body to it and if it takes months and months to fall preg we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Smile

Hi Ballerina! sorry AF got you x
Could not wait until thursday and thought that if when i have been late before i have actuallt been pg for a few days and it not 'stuck' maybe it would be good to know.
Cant believe i am posting this, but got a BFP today. am in shock. peed on 3 sticks, first digital one was faulty so had 2 wait half an hour for it to reset so i found an old not non digital one in the cupboard and got a faint line. Have spent the entire half hour just sat in the bathroom. 2nd digital flashed possitive within a minute and was not expecting it that quick either (said to wait 3 minutes!).
We have been trying for 16 months, first month OPKing and started B6 on day of positive OPK as this is when i found out about short luteal phases.
Ni idea if this is because we DTD every day for 3 weeks! or if the B6 has helped it 'stick'.
Going to keep taking B6 and hope this is not a false positive.
Good luck
