I have an appointment at the doctors today to talk about my screwed up cycles which are starting to really get to me. TTC now for a year, one mc before Christmas... now on day 41 of my cycle, which since I've been TTCing, is now a record. Normally 35-40, but my normal signs that my period is imminent turned up a week late this month (10 days of sore boobs), so I assumed that my crap body hadn't even ovulated. This has been really getting me down :-( Thing is, I thought I ought to make sure I wasn't pregnant before going to cry on my GPs shoulder (she is very nice!), and I've just done a frer. There is a faint line on it. Its quite easy to see, you don't have to squint or anything, and it appeared within the time. But is is so so so faint compared with the control line. Is there a chance this could be an evaporation line, or a piss take? I so desperately want this to be positive, but am frightened to think that this is possible, just for the pain and the let down again. What do you all think?
Thanks

Even if its fainter than the control line it still means a positive test.
It appeared within the allotted time and the line is there just not as strong as the control line. It's a positive. So congratulations!

A line is a line is a line. Congratulations!

Get another test and try again. If the same thing happens then it looks like a positive.

Having done one of these tests this morning (!), was the line definitely coloured or definitely grey? There was a grey shadow on mine. Now the test is dry, the shadow is gone. On mine it was definitely a colourless grey shadow, not a very light pink positive.
Sorry - won't help you decide - hugs xxx

Yes, definitely positive I'd say. I had about 3 days of v faint lines at 4 weeks. 3 scans (6 wks - after mmc last year, 12 and 13 wks) and 16 weeks later and fingers x'd in another 24 weeks my 'faint line' will be born. Grin

Maybe try again tmrw morning with FMU? Good luck. :)

leeloo - can you remember, did the faint lines vanish when the test was dry?

Oh thank you so much everyone for replying, since I already had the doctors appointment, I took it along to her and she says def positive too, which I think it probably is, but I don't want to let myself believe it if its wrong, or if I am going to miscarry, or antything. Obv, nobody knows if I am going to miscarry, but last time was so devastating that I want to protect myself from that. Impossible, I know! Mmmm, maybe test again in a few days if I haven't started bleeding by then.
Good luck with all of your faint lines, I am still shaking with shock at mine!

My incredibly feint line almost 3 years ago to the day, is now a bouncy toddler.
Good luck and congratulations!

Hey Daisy, no it didn't disappear, but it was a total 'squint at in a certain light and then squint some more' job. :)

Congratulations Wooly, thats fab news. I found it so hard to believe that it'll all be ok this time... and still do actually. For a couple of weeks after the scans I've been bouncing with joy, then the doubts have started to creep back again. Fingers x'd it'll be good news for both of us.
