Morning,

My little person was born 2 years ago but I've only just discovered I have this! We were hoping to start TTC in the next few weeks but physio has advised to put it off for a while. We will of course wait until we get the all clear but was just wondering if anyone else has experience of this? How long before you were ready? And did you have to take any extra precautions/ do anything particular while pregnant?

Thanks

Hi Quick I had this for a long time after my last huge DS was born and didn't really try to correct for a long time (it wasn't diagnosed, I was overweight too which didn't help and I didn't do much exercise due to a spine problem)
However I started using kettle bells - taught myself some of the exercises safely, particularly the core muscle exercises and started gently- and my muscles are now almost completely closed - it was quite quick tbh, I noticed a vast improvement within a few months.

Hi Dondon, glad to hear you saw results quickly. Am doing physio exercises, will check out some kettle bell ones as well. Did you find them online? i was the same, undiagnosed and put the spreading middle down to lack of exercise! An just glad it was figured out before I became pregnant again, even if it does delay us a bit!

Thanks again :)

Yeah! it's better to fix it now you know.
The kettlebells exercises I got from youtube but be sure to find how to do them safely - there's so many idiots on there who'll actually show you how to give yourself an injury rather than the correct way (read the comments below the vid - the people there usually say if there doing it wrong and often point you in the right direction of a good trainer demonstration) - but concentrate on the core workouts - the main one to start would be the kettle bell swing which if executed correctly is great for your bum, thighs, back muscles and arms too ;)
The best would be to attend a class to learn but I didn't have that option as I lived in foreign country not really big on KB's.
Also the weight of the KB is important - I started with an 8kg which was probably a little too heavy for me (it was my dp's and I stole it :) ) but the next size down would have been better at first I think. Don't get me wrong you do need it to have weight there so don't bother to waste your money if you see the tiny light ones.
Good luck, I hope you repair quickly and you can get on with the baby making :)

Cheers for all the info dondon, that's great! Think I've found a good beginners workout and can get a loan of some kettle bells - hopefully i'll be good to go in a few months ;) Thanks again :)
