Hello

I'm new to MN and TTC and I would just appreciate some advice please.

I stopped taking the pill (Gedarel) on 11th Jan and got my normal bleed after that on the 14th for 5 days.

I have been using PinkPad to track ovulation so we knew when the time was right etc. No symptoms apart from sore nipples about a week ago for a few days.

AF was due yesterday, Yesterday and today I've been really hormonal - crying my eyes out etc. I POAS this morning (one of the cheap internet ones) and it was BFN.

Now, I know it can take a while for AF to come back after stopping the pill, but if you were me would you keep testing each day until AF finally arrives or just give up for this month? Does any of this sound like I might be PG?

Thank you in advance
x

Hey, there's always a chance, but if you can, just give it up for this month. It's very, very easy for your whole life to get caught up on waiting for a little blue line to appear - it can take a long time to happen (and those tests are expensive!). Do you genuinely have a 28 day cycle? Most people are somewhere between 26 and 32 days, so keep a note of your dates now you're off the pill and count the days so that you know when you are actually due.
And lastly, good luck, but remember to enjoy your life and relax - you've got a much greater chance of getting pregnant when you're not stressed and having sex to order.

Hey citygirl I stopped taking my pill on the 3rd of January so I'm a week ahead of you! I had my normal pill bleed a few days later and normal AF was due last Monday but it never came! At first I was convinced I was pregnant but did 2 tests a week apart and both BFN. I considered buying the ovulation kits to track it but I think I would become completely obsessed with it all so decided to just let nature take its course and dtd as often as we can to give us the biggest chance! Hope you're feeling ok and welcome to NM Smile xxx

Hi definitely give it up! You could be pregnant and fingers crossed you are - that would be great!

I came off the pill on 21st dec and had the normal withdrawal bleed 25th-29th dec.

I then came on a real period (WOW - I was amazed after 10 years on the pill) on 25th Jan til 29th jan. so a bit later than expected but at least it came - some women take a long time to have periods again/have normal cycles.

I have the pink pad app too and its only really guessing based on the info you put in. And based on the fact that your last "period" was actually a withdrawal bleed from the pill and not a "true" period, I'd say the app is really not entirely accurate.... yet!

Anyway... I keep my fingers crossed for you! I'm in a 2 week wait at the moment after DTD a good few times when i THINK i was OV (again I cant be sure because not sure if my cycles are "normal" yet after coming off the pill in dec).... so my period is due around 21st feb and obviously im hoping it doesnt come at all and that im pregnant!!! Smile

Wait and see but I would lay off the tests if I were you! Otherwise you will become consumed by it! xx

ooooh nice to see we're almost in the same boat gillian1986 and ELA88.

TMI alert!!
Bizzareness - last night at an inopportune moment Wink AF arrived and made a bit of a mess so I cleaned up and put a tampax in but this morning there was nothing on it!! Maybe that was my lot for the month. If so, I wish I'd come off it years ago! Hmm anyway quite strange!
