We actively started TTC#3 yesterday. I have a DD1 who is almost 8yrs & DD2 who is 13 months.

Scared about going from 2-3 but excited at same time Grin

Cycle1 BFP due15th Feb.

We are trying to decide whether to go for no 3.

Have a 12 year old and an 8 year old and thought my baby days were behind me as I slowly work my way towards my 40s.

BUT DH admitted that he doesn't want a vasectomy because he desperately wants at least one more child.

We are financially secure, I work part time but losing that money won't be an issue. We have spare bedrooms luckily enough big enough cars.

Practically all is in place but I am terrified. Had to have CVS with both DCs and I feel as though I am pushing my luck being so much older this time!

I have always said no more and so this will be a complete about turn! DH is ecstatic at the thought of more children though!

Nappies, sleepless night and vomit!!!! What the hell are we letting ourselves in for, that is if it happens at all? Mind you DH has the approach that if we go at it like rabbits it must work!

Am bloody scared of going back to it all!

So come on tell the op the difference between 2 and 3 cause I really would like to know!

QueenofClean · 27/01/2013 16:49

MC. With an 7yr age gap between DD1 & 2 it's not that bad going back to nappies etc.

Can't be that bad going from 2-3 surely!

hopefully soon! trying to convince OH at the moment...not sure if I have implantation bleeding or early period....so maybe I won't need to convince him, I guess I'll know in a day or two!

Whitetara · 27/01/2013 17:47

Hi, yes we are! Can I join you?

QueenofClean · 27/01/2013 18:21

Welcome ladies.

MadameCastafiore · 27/01/2013 20:07

Hello ladies.

I hope it's not that bad. Going to be the reflux whilst pregnant and the lack of sleep that kills me.

It's exciting though isn't it!

moonblues · 28/01/2013 12:07

Hello ladies. Think I saw you Queen on the pointless thread!
We have just started TTC no 3, after my DH changed his mind about not having any more children. Grin
My DCs are 5 and 3, so not as big a gap, though definitely have got used to more sleep and no nappies.
Cycle 1, not sure when BFP due as my cycle varies, but LMP 8/1/13, so think will wait til the 2nd week in Feb to test...

chocoholicalcoholic · 28/01/2013 12:10

Hello everyone! May I join in?

I'm very excited but slightly scared too. Grin

MadameCastafiore · 28/01/2013 16:55

I have no idea when to test as have had a mirena for 8 years and only removed it Thursday. Haven't starting bleeding yet so not sure if that good sign or not!

It was the doctor telling DH to be really sure he didn't want anymore kids when he went to get a referral for the snip that did it. He came home all dejected saying he really did want another baby!!!

Is exciting though. Fingers crossed for everyone!

QueenofClean · 28/01/2013 17:13

Moon - yeah am on other thread too.

Welcome Choc.

MC - ahh good thing your DH realised before it was too late.
It was DH trying to persuade me into having a 3rd child.

Although way it's going this week, with both of us feeling a bit less than 100% and being ov week I'm not sure we will achieve a BFP this cycle!

Well what a day I've had today. Best news is my DD1 has singing lessons every Saturday and the academy had a competition which she was entered for and out of all the students she was picked as the winner of 3 tickets for The X Factor tour on weds. She's so excited. Grin

chocoholicalcoholic · 28/01/2013 19:32

Oooh well done Queen's DD!

Moon - we've got a same ish gap in DCs, mine are 6 and 3. Just got used to leaving the house with no pushchair, nappies etc... Grin

Good luck everyone!

Fairypants · 28/01/2013 21:06

Hi girls, can I join you? I'm not actually ttc til April but v excited as DH always said no more until recently. I have no idea what's what as dd's were both unplanned.
Good luck to those alteady ttc :)

QueenofClean · 29/01/2013 07:28

Welcome Fairy.

Shattered this morning. DD2 was awake at 2:30 this morning. Managed to get her back to sleep by 3:30 with some milk.

Hello Fairy, good luck for April Smile

thethreeblondies · 29/01/2013 10:12

Ooh hello ladies can I pull up a pew please?! I have 2DD's aged 7 and 3 been trying for a third for just over a year (had a mmc last june and an early mc in october) I've always said I wanted 3, me and DH both come from families of 3 kids do it just seems right to me!
Took a year to fall pg with DD2 (1 early mc) so probably ended up wiyh slightly larger age gaps than I would hsve ideally wanted but girls are so brill together, and am hoping will be a big help next time!
We too have the room, car, job will be fine with 3 etc, just need the baby! DD2 starts school in sept and DH thinks if I'm not pg I'll be working full time again! Ummm no! Have been dtd like a pair of 19yr olds this month, don't think he realises my real motivation is not to have to work full time Smile

QueenofClean · 29/01/2013 11:06

Welcome Three.

When DC3 comes along I'll be a SAHM as thankfully we can afford it.

DD2 is currently napping. DD1 went to school okay so I'm just having a cuppa tea & waiting for my Sainsbury's shop to be delivered. Smile As it's like Old Mother Hubbards cupboards in my kitchen lol!

mumoftwoboysS · 29/01/2013 18:22

ok so I'm not pregnant :-( so feel like I can't join the board yet as we're not technically ttc as OH hasn't given the green light yet. I want one more, he doesn't, though I've been gently suggesting the idea over the past few weeks and think I'm getting some positive resopnse (well he didn't run for the hills!) I think secretly he'd like a girl (we have 2 ds's) but of course there's no guarantee of that.

anyone else trying for dc3 to get a particular sex? I'm actually happy whether it's a girl or a boy- just want another baby! So...anyone have any tips on persuading OH? I wish it was my hubby trying to persuade me! He's one of 3 funnily enough and I'm one of 2. I think bigger families are great, I think his reasons are more financial worries.

Did anyone wait till their youngest was a certain age? my youngest turns 2 on thursday and I do think perhaps I should wait till he's 3 before having another one as its not easy when they're all young (my oldest is 4 in March)

sorry for gatecrashing as not strictly ttc3 but SOOO want to be :-( broody does not even cover it!...

Fairypants · 29/01/2013 19:19

Hey mumof
Sorry nature didn't take the choice out of the matter!
I'm on the fence re:gender as i have 2 dds and always wanted 4 dds but now wonder what a ds would be like. dh really wanted dd1 to be a boy but she won him over and now he would prefer dd3.
I can't really offer any tips on persuading your DH to have #3 as it took me 10 years!!! Lots of sympathy and fingers X though. :)

MadameCastafiore · 29/01/2013 19:28

I can't tell you how to persuade DH as I was the one that needed persuading! Just spent an hour cuddling a 3 month old to sleep and boy was he heavy!!

It is exciting, dd was planned but not DS so all this trying is pretty much a new thing.

I don't know why, when I see another baby I always see a boy but would love either. Just as long as not twins! That would push me over the edge!

Feel like a cat on a hot tin roof, my head is all over the place. Does anyone else feel like that. I'm not used to delayed gratification! If I want something I want it NOW!!

QueenofClean · 29/01/2013 19:41

Can't give your persuasion tips as DH had to persuade & convince me.

No preference as to the sex. However, would be nice to see what it's like to have a son after having 2 DD's.

Feeling awful tonight so BDing is off the cards :(

mumoftwoboysS · 29/01/2013 20:17

thanks Fairypants- 10 years though! I don't have that long, I'm already 36 in feb! I'll just keep chipping away at him I guess- he said today 'you getting rid of those reusable nappies? (just sold some on ebay), what about baby no.3?' Not sure if he's just playing a game now or really starting to think about the possibility!

MadameCastafiore- I feel like that- thought I was pregnant and was planning everything in my head, now I'm not I feel like I just want to be NOW!

Are any of you worried about rooms/sleeping arrangements? My two boys would have to share if we had another, not sure how that'd go as they tend to just talk and not sleep when they've shared a room on holiday- I guess the novelty would wear off?!

right, I've got to stop looking on here till I'm offiically ttc or I'll go mad! ;-)

well maybe I'll hang around a bit longer...

QueenofClean · 30/01/2013 09:14

Don't think DC3 will be conceived this month. DH, DD1 & me have been struck down with a sickness bug. :( DD2 seems to of escaped it so gone to nursery quite happy Smile

OP posts:
chocoholicalcoholic · 30/01/2013 10:46

Get well soon Queen, I hope your bug doesn't last for long and that DD2 doesn't get it too.

mumof - keep chipping away at your DH, it sounds like he's thinking along those lines! My two would have to share rooms too. They keep asking to share anyway cause they want bunk beds! It'll be one big adventure to them to start with I think Grin

Madame - yes head all over the place too. DP is so cool and calm about it though, these men have it easy.

Three - Welcome! Sorry to hear about your mmc and mc. Lots of luck for 2013!
