Hi. TTC#4 as the title says. Must be slightly mad to want four kids!

I thought it would be nice to gather all three of us us all together under one roof so we could spur each other on to keep DTD even though we're not getting any sleep coz the other three DCs are tiring us out/keeping us awake and making us wonder whether it's actually a bad idea

There are no rules, we can temp/chart/obsess over CM/use OPKs/symptom spot/POAS way too early if we actually ever had time to record when CD1 was or none of the above.

Copy and paste my details then add your own in the same format please (I like to keep things tidy!)

Looking forward to meeting you both all.

Hi, can't seem to copy and paste from my computer at the moment but didn't want to leave you here on your own!

I know I'm mad (I usually lurk on the 40+ thread with all the other oldies!)
Basically we had an unplanned, but very welcome, pregnancy which sadly ended in miscarriage at 11 weeks in March last year. We then decided we wanted to actively ttc , there's definitely room in our family for a 4th and though I knew we couldn't replace the little one we'd lost I felt an overwhelming yearning for a baby. I went on to have another miscarriage at 6 weeks in June, conceived again straight away and had a third miscarriage at 12 weeks in Aug/Sept,despite having early scans that showed a heartbeat and normal growth we found out baby died at 8w6d. I waited to miscarry naturally,I didn't want to go into hospital if I could avoid it as our younger DC didn't know I was pregnant, they were so upset the first time we weren't going to tell them I was pregnant again until we were sure everything was ok.
I've been told if I get pregnant again at my age there's a 50% chance of miscarriage but taking aspirin could help prevent it so for now I'm trying, I feel I would regret more not trying and never knowing if we could have our much longed for 4th.
I'm temping, charting and used opk tests in the last three cycles but trying not to let ttc become an obsession!

Hi IrishMammy so lovely of you to join me! I was getting quite lonely! I just knew there had to be someone else mad enough for four and TTC at the same time as me.

I am so so sorry to read about your miscarriages. My very first pregnancy ended in a mmc in 2004 so I have a little bit of an idea of what you've been through. It was bad enough coping with one mc, so three must be very hard to deal with Sad.

I'm not using OPKs, temping or charting. I tried those when I was TTC #3 and I found, for me, they didn't tell me anything I didn't already know (EWCM is very obvious! Sorry, TMI!) and they also made me VERY obsessed about the whole thing, I had to stop using them after a few months otherwise I'd have tipped myself over the edge!

I know that they are a great tool for many many people though and the science behind it all really fascinates me.

Anyway, nice to have you on board. I wonder if we can round anyone else up!

Best of luck to both of you. I have three children but am taking the Pill religiously. A little part of me would like to have another so I'll follow your progress with interest!

Wishing you both well Smile

There you go, the details for both of us!

I may have to sneak out of this thread for a little while. I know, I know, I only just created it. I will be back though, I promise. Let me explain: I'm now in the two week wait and, like everyone, I find this time really difficult. If I'm not careful, though, I really obsess about symptom spotting and think of little else. It then encroaches on family life, and that's not fair on the rest of the brood or my DH. Staying away from places like Mumsnet might just help me to keep my head in a better place. I'll be back sometime around the 18th as that's when AF is due.

See you soon.
M xx

Hello Melody and good luck for 2ww. I am ambivalent at the moment re the possibility of a fourth. Bu a little envious of those who are trying Smile

Hi 450 , all I can say is that it wasn't until we lost our baby in March it really hit home how much we wanted a 4th child and now I worry it might be too late so I wish I'd started trying years ago!

Melody good luck with the 2ww, I think I ovulated yesterday so I'm probably in the 2ww too! See you around the 18th,hopefully you'll have some good news.x

irish - what a roller coaster you've been on in the last year, it sounds very wearing. I hope you have better luck soon and that you have someone to talk to to help you through.

I'm not doing very well in staying away from MN in my 2ww. I keep going back to the Just Shagging thread where there are plenty of others in the same position as me!

Hi, not ttc #4, but #5!

just about to start ttc (not literally though!) and this we will be our last.
Starting earlier than before, but we want a smaller age gap so #4 isn't on his own and we're both getting on a bit ;)

MelodyHarmony · 13/01/2013 20:38

Ah, welcome Neddle. So nice to have you on board. #5 Wow! But that gives me hope that four is do-able! DH and I have both had wobbles this week - would we actually cope with four?!

I totally understand what you mean about not wanting one in their own. That's one of the main reasons I'm TTC number four. DC3 took ages to ck crime so left us with a bigger gap that we'd hoped for and now I feel like we just need to balance it all out a bit!

So glad you could join us. It's a but quiet on here and I'm supposed to be keeping off MN whilst I'm in the 2WW otherwise I obsess over my symptoms. But I'm actually still lurking on here and posting quite a bit in another thread! I'm 9DPO today and feeling very crampy and also slightly nauseous. Which is probably totally in my head but if it's not, it terrifies me. I hate morning sickness and if this is the beginning of it then I'm in for a long ride. It seems to be starting earlier with every PG. BUT it's probably nothing.
