I have a couple of questions about first response pregnancy tests. has anyone actually had a postitive test 6 days early? how accurate can it actually be when testing that early. also google tells me that first response don't get evap lines, anyone know if that's true?

I got a bfp this month on a Frer, at least five days early. And again the next day. :) I only got a bfp on a 10mlu Internet cheapie the day my period was due... So I think the Frer are pretty sensitive :) hth

Not sure on the FRER tests but generally speaking a test taken at 10dpo, so 4 days early (assuming a 14 day luteal phase) is only about 60% accurate.

To be honest testing early is usually a waste of money - you might as well pee on a fiver! From my bitter experience (2.5 years TTC without success) I much rather wait for AF To turn up than see a negative test.

usually I'd agree about testing too early. I am v impatient but have never tested more than 2 days earlier. this time I've started from 5 days before af due as per my specialists instructions. but its just causing unnecessary stress so not worth it!

My luteal phase is around 10/11 days, so for me testing six days early would be very silly and definitely BFN! But for a luteal phase of 16 days, a 10dpo BFP wouldn't be out the question. So what I am saying is that it's a ridiculous measurement, they'd be better off saying "Can detect positives as early as 8 days past ovulation" (this is about their limit, along with most other ultra sensitive tests) although perhaps the masses wouldn't understand that.

this morning I've done a frer and a cb digi. frer very faint again. but the digital says pregnant!

Congratulations!! - I always found FRERs to be really faint actually, but some women do test quite dark on them (compared to the same sort of line on a cheapie) so perhaps you're like me!
