Presumably this was an AMH test? what was the actual result?

There are plenty of people who have had children with low AMH levels. It's really a prediction of future fertility as far as I can make out. A low number is saying "better get on with it".

Thanks, yes it was 3.88 which is in the very low category. Bit of a shock as the scan was all good, I'm in good health, non smoker etc. The clinic are encouraging me to freeze eggs but the success rates appear to be very low from this method.

You are better off freezing embryos, I believe, if this is an option.

There are plenty of people with lower AMH levels having success either naturally or with AC on fertility friends.

Oh Pia, i do sympathise, that flipping amh test has scared many a woman. My amh is lower than yours and i'm 33. agree with Euro that a lot of people still conceive with amh of 0. something. But amh is only one way of measuring ovarian reserve - there is the antral follical count and fsh that also should be considered as well. Were these done? And I am not sure of your situation but i have heard also that embryos can survive the thaw easier than eggs. Also low ovarian reserve doesn't mean quality is low. And i will add that amh can go up - I'm not sure how as apparently it's not suppose to but many people on fertility friends have seen theirs go up...some ivf clinics think the test is bollocks whereas others place importance on it so i'm personally not sure about it.

Did they also check your LH and FSH levels?

I'm sorry to hear that joycep, it sounds like you've done a lot of research, are you considering freezing eggs or embryos? I had one blood test for AMH only, along with a scan which showed follicles forming but maybe that's different the antral follical test you mention- LH and FSH not mentioned by the doc. I had the tests as an MOT as I'm currently single and wanted to know what shape i'm in. I'd need a donor to freeze embryos which I will definitely consider if that's the best option, your comments suggest there are options though and this gives me some hope so heartfelt thanks for this.
