I'm in the same boat. CD20, and still no signs of ov.

Will keep trying and not write this month off - thanks :)

I have been known to have very long cycles as I have pcos. The cycle I fell for ds was 138 days long, so I ov'd approximately 125cd.

You haven't been particularly stressed have you? Your body won't ov if you have (or so the books say).

Fx for you: squeeeeeze Smile

Day 142!

Very few women have a 28 day cycle so in turn most women do not ovulate on Day 14 - it is simply a guideline used by doctors.

Day 17 is not a late ovulation!

Day 21 oved from a 35 day cycle.

I'm using the cb fertility monitor, cycles have been all over the place so I've been using the cb fertility monitor which has helped ( tho hasn't helped my bank balence £££!!)

dingdong I guess I have been stressing about not ovulating, could that stop me ovulating do you think? Am cd18 and still no sign whatsoever of ov, seems so bizarre!

You can have cycles where you simply don't ovulate. Most women have one or two a year. Mine tend to be a few days longer than a normal cycle.

Well after a short (for me) cycle of 32 days last month st the moment I'm on day 19 and not a hint of ewcm...usually I get this for about a week building up to when I ov so at the moment I may be looking at another 50 day cycle...so I'd say you're probably pretty safe.

havealittle really I didn't know that? Slightly depressing for me or this cycle but if that is the case then fingers crossed its just for this cycle and not a sign of any secondary infertility type problems. Dd is a year old and I stupidly thought it would be so easy to fall pg again but it's not necessarily the case.

Tomorrow will be cd19, doubt I'll ov this month as its so late so here's hoping next month will be better, keeping those fingers firmly crossed.

Thank you everyone.

Do you track your ovulation at all using sticks, fertility friend or a CBFM?

Report
LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 24/11/2012 23:08

I've only started tracking again since cd15 so 3 days ago, and use opk. No positive yet. Before this I kept track fmu cycle length etc but not tracking my ov.since my periods returned from finishing bfing around 4.5 months ago my cycle has been 32 days....perhaps it's not fully back to normal after bfing?

loveyou.. yes, your ovulation can be delayed (or skipped even) if your body thinks you wouldn't be able to cope with being pregnant - so to speak.
any stress could cause this : from big things like moving houses/new job/bereavement/serious illness/getting married to smaller things like traveling/minor illnesses/losing or putting on weight/exams etc - I guess stressing about ovulation/getting pregnant could prevent some people from the very thing they'd like to happen.

although weirdly enough some people do fall pregnant unexpectedly when distracted by these events/circumstances.

and yes, periods being all over the could be due to hormonal changes after stopping BF- I seem to remember that it can take a good 6 months or even longer to get back to normal

btw apparently having sex unexpectedly or with intense emotions can actually cause ovulation (therefore unexpected pregnancy) - one night stand babies, there's the explanation!

so give yourself a bit of time and try to distract yourself from TTC and just have fun (I know, easier said then done, sorry)

Thank you amazing I guess I need to look at this as a long haul thing and sadly not expect to ovulate every month.
