Strange period

Hi, I'm very confused. My cycle is usually 31-34 days long, but this month, my period started on Day 26 (Sunday). Which never happens. I actually thought it was an implantation bleed to start with (although I didn't have this with my first pregnancy), but it got heavier. It is lighter than a normal period is for me though, and I havent had the back pain I usually get, just a dragging feeling in my abdomen, which has actually gone now. I'm still bleeding today. My boobs are also more sensitive and slightly bigger than normal. So, I can't be pregnant, can I? Would POAS be silly?

I would poas. I had an odd/short & light period, thought nothing of it & then got an urge to test & it was positive. DS is almost 22 months! Good luck.

Hi tuckingfits, thanks for your reply. How long after your odd period started did you test?

If I test and get a positive result, does this mean I'm definitely pregnant - bit worried this bleeding means I've lost a pregnancy.

Sorry - just remembered your thread & saw you'd asked me a question. My period was a bit lighter & a lot shorter than normal. I think I tested 4 days after it "started". Got a positive immediately although it was faint. Did several more on the days following & they got stronger. I also has heavy red bleeding from 6 - 12 weeks & thought I was miscarrying but it turned out (after birth by emergency c section) that I had a velamentous cord which would explain the bleeding according to the consultant. It was just the the baby had implanted in a strange position in the uterus apparently.

Did you poas (auto correct keeps changing that to piss, which I find hilarious!) yet? Good luck!

Hi tuckingfits, I did poas this morning, got a BFN, but my period isn't due until Saturday and the test was a supermarket one, so wasn't expecting any different really. The bleeding stopped after 48 hours though and my boobs are massive today..........

Wow, bleeding from 6-12 weeks must have been so stressful, glad it turned out OK for you.

It was a really worrying time but as you say all turned out fine in the end. Best of luck for the next stick! Sounds like it could be implantation bleeding but I'm no expert. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, will you update?
