...is it too soon to be broody? We were going to try for a 2 year age gap but now all of a sudden I'm on the 2WW. I'd forgotten how long it seems.

Is 17 months apart too small a gap?

The right gap is whatever is right for you and your partner.

My friend has 18 months between her eldest two and she loves it. She had easy pregnancies, easy second birth and both boys were very chilled kids.

My DS is now 3 months so maybe I will feel as you do in a few months but I doubt it. I hated pregnancy, had a horrible labour and only now feel as if my sanity is slowly returning! I think that a 2 to 3 year gap will work better for me.

Sorry, that's not particularly helpful is it?!

Thanks for replying :) That in itself is helpful enough! From my PoV it would be lovely but my DH is not keen just yet.

What are his reasons for waiting? And what are your reasons for now? Maybe by comparing these two 'lists' you may be able to jointly make the right choice for both of you.

Thanks AllIWant... His reasons are sensible "head" ones - money, number of bedrooms etc, and he doesn't like babies. I suppose my main reason for cracking on with it is my age (I'm not far off 40)... There's no massive rush of course and I'd not even been seriously thinking about it, but we had a bit of a whoops with dates, hence the 2ww!

I'm on the 2ww now and ds is 9 months :) I do keep having a bit of a wobble about the age gap but if we are pregnant then ill be overjoyed! I'm only 32 but I do want 3 kids so figured we best get moving. It also means they our second child would be born at beginning of summer hols (both teachers) making the first 6 weeks a bit easier. And I've always wanted a close gap, and then maybe a slightly larger gap next time (assuming its all that easy...!) I'm 12dpo so have my fingers well crossed. Good luck for yours!!

Hi everyone, just saw this thread and thought I would chip in. I just got my bfp on Monday and ds is 8 months. I must admit I am feeling a bit 'eek' about it, it was planned but happened quickly and I think I just need time for it to sink in. I am a bit worried about what work will say though and I think my mother will think I am mad! Good luck to those in the 2ww

Congrats rhubarb! My family will think I'm bonkers if I get preggers thus quick so your comment made me chuckle! I tested this morn and bfn :( but then no sign of af and starting to feel like I could be pregnant...which probably means I'm not but ill keep on testing till the witch appears! Hope to join you soon :)

arrgh, how frustrating neiffer hope you get some answers soon and really hope its a bfp for you. are you using 1st response? I always find them the best

Neiffer · 01/11/2012 20:15

I've been using Internet cheapies but have a first response that I'm saving for the morning :) it's not an early response one though, I found it in a drawer from my last pregnancy :)))

You are good having tests left over, I probably would have just taken them anyway, ha ha. I have now done 5 tests and I don't have anymore so I have to believe it :) good luck for the morning

Congratulations, Calm! I've had some cramps but it's only about 7 dpo so surely that's too early? I can't remember! Have been (tmi sorry) weeing loads too. And I've put my pregnancy books away :(

I really don't know how I feel about this all. I know I will be gutted if af arrives next week though!

Well used my oldish test this morning and its a bfn I think....there is the faintest faint of a line. So I'm going to go buy a more sensitive one :) and still no af. Eek, slightly slightly hopeful...oh slightly slightly scared haha!

still keeping my fingers crossed for you neiffer, i did a tesco test and got a faint line but then did a 1st response and it was an obvious, dark line. good luck
peeohayess with ds, i got cramps around 7 dpo thought i was imagining it but then got a bfp around 10 dpo, fx for you too!

Good luck neiffer I had cramping from pretty much 3dpo! With really strong ones 7dpo. Still get them on and off - they were really sore lastnightHmm

neiffer as I understand it, a line is a line. Sounds promising to me! Fx... :)

calm you have your Bounty pack already?! Wow we don't get them til booking here. Is it still full of all the advertising rubbish and stuff you'll never need?

One week down, one to go... And talking to DH yesterday he seemed far less negative about it bring a bfp than I thought he would. He said "we don't have space for two babies", and I replied, "Well we don't have space for a three year old and a baby but, well, babies are very small!". He then responded jokingly "we don't have space for a pregnant you... You're already taking up 2/3 of the bed!". I'm taking that as a positive sign [hwink]

Have you not even accidentally poas pee?! I would've :) no idea whether I'm oregnant or not still. Bfn this morning (but not fmu) but the test I took the other day is still a faint positive and not an evap line (I think) and still no af....argh! Maybe my IC tests are duds?! Glad your partner is coming round to the idea, despite the fact were ttc I think my OH is still a bit unsure!!!

Haha we didn't have any s in the house to p o ! Bought a twin pack from tesco today though. I think I read somewhere on here that the tests with pink dye are better than those with blue dye... No idea why or whether it's true! We are now 9 or 10 dpo (do you count the day you ovulate or not?). All sorts of weird pains and cramps in the general lower tummy and back so i really have no idea what is going on! With luck, only 5 more days to wait...
