Hi Ladies,
I hope you don't mind me posting a link to my survey here. I have had 7 miscarriages. After the third I was diagnosed with a Balanced Translocation, which is the most likely cause of my losses. During the last four years I have experienced everything from professionalism and sympathy from NHS staff to dis-organisation, thoughtlessness and a lack of understanding and caring. The positives can only make a small difference to our heartache, but the negatives can make it a hundred times worse.
Sadly miscarriage is incredibly common, and around 1 in 100 women will experience recurrent miscarriages (3 or more). That is an awful lot of us and yet general awareness of it and it's effects is very poor.
I want to try to increase awareness and improve how we are treated by medical professionals in the hope that a better understanding will make our horrible experiences slightly easier to cope with.
I have compiled this survey in order to identify the main areas that require improvement. The information that you provide will be used respectfully to campaign to decision makers for improvements in quality and consistency of services.
Please note that medically, recurrent miscarriage is defined as 3 or more miscarriages, but for the purpose of this survey recurrent means more than one.
