Hi everyone

Iv not been on here for a while but just have to share my emotions or I think I'll breakdown :-(

Me an my DH have been trying for a baby for 5 months (yes I know it's not a long time) an I was chatting to a bloke at work last week (he has 2kids already an got married a month ago) and he mentioned that he an his wife were trying for #3. Well after chatting today in the kitchen making a brew he said they haven't been trying an his wife was due on her period this week only later on this morning he came over to tell me that his wife had text him as she had been sick this morning so she did a test an it was positive. I obviously congratulated him but I just wanted to cry :-( am I just being stupid??? I know we haven't been trying long but at the moment everyone seems to be getting pregnant other than me!!

Sorry for the little rant but had to share :-(

aw jenjen don't beat yourself up, i had a similar experience today. i was 7 wks pregnant until i had a MC last week. i've been really down since (obviously) and then today i got a text from a friend (who didn't know about my pg or mc) to say she's expecting her 3rd child. this friend has 2 wee ones already and said she would never ever want another kid and now she's pregnant! i was obviously happy for them, but i think the jealousy took over a little bit. what i'm trying to say is, you can't help your feelings, but don't let yourself get angry or jealous as other people often have other problems and issues that they have to get over as well as us.

we all need a rant now and again, so don't feel guilty but do try to let yourself be happy for people who get positive results. i'm a firm believer in good vibes smile hopefully our time will come soon xx

I have been ttc for 4wks only blush and two of my friends have told me their pregnant within those 4wkssad.

I've cried I'm envy of them but so so happy for them as well.

I see pregnant women and babies everywhere ( maybe I'm going insane wink). It's a tough road

Hello Jen,
So sorry your feeling down. Its not that everyone else is getting pregnant it just seems more magnified because its something you so desperately want.....I'm in the same boat as you and so are lots of others. I get it, I really do (I lost my full term son in July) my SIL has just announced she's pregnant and I'm really pleased for her especially since she has been trying for almost 2 years.....but inside I was despairing because I carried my son for 9 months and still have no baby. Your not being stupid its really really hard when your having no luck!!

Sending you big hugs and hope you are blessed with a LO soon xxx

Your reactions are completely understandable. We have always, rightly, had the "safe sex" message rammed down our throats, to the point that we think it must be really easy to get pregnant. Truth is, it's not!

It will take a perfectly healthy couple up to 1 year to conceive, personally I've been TTC for 2.5 years. 4 months really is nothing in the grand scheme of things. You need to take a deep breath and block everyone else out. I know it is hard, but it really is the only way to keep yourself sane!

Good luck!

My DH and I are trying for a baby after he had his vasectomy reversal in March.

No baby for us either, I REALLY thought I was pregnant this month (I even wrote a thread about it on MN)

I EVEN got a faint positive line, but I have re done the test 3 times.... Big.Fat.Negative :-(

I am also stressed as my good friend has anounced she is pregnant and there are now 3 pregnant people at work ect...Like you I just smile and congratulate, I'm not cross with them just upset for me.

I am driving myself INSANE. :-(

You are not alone. xxx

I've been trying for a year and mine and my husbands hearts break every time someone we know gets married (cause we think they'll get pregnant before we do) and everytime someone announces they are pregnant.

It sucks sad

I'm so sorry for your losses janiewoozle and Babyh200 I know I'm not alone as there are loads of you out there TTC and not getting anywhere. It's just so frustrating that people around me are getting pregnant so fast an without even trying. I tried explaining how I felt to DH in Asda of all places an found myself having to bite my lip to stop myself from crying :-( all he could say was we will get pregnant when its out time too. I know he meant well but it didn't help!! Thanks for all your lovely messages. It's helped :-)

Oh I know exactly how you feel! When you're trying it feels like EVERYONE is getting pregnant but you! There are babies and bumps everywhere but it's just you notice it more cause its something you want so badly. When dh and I were ttc we were shocked at fact didn't work straight away I mean your told in school you'll get pregnant if you even look at penis without a condom! Lol now our wee bundle is here I can honestly say I barely remember the hard times ttc it's all worth it.
