Really confused, can anyone tell me what's happening?

Got my BFP on Thursday, and just to be doubly sure, on Friday too Grin. LMP 16/07, period due today so thought I'd got an early result.

Now I'm really confused about what's going on.

I had what I thought was my implantation cramping last Monday. But this weekend I've been really uncomfortable. And staying with my MIL so didn't want to say anything!

Was in quite a lot of pain on my left hand side, on top of my ovary IYSWIM, late afternoon Saturday, and had some spotting. Then all the pain and the spotting went away. Long walk on the beach on Sunday morning, lunch in the garden, all fine. Then after an hour in the car on the way home, was sitting curled up in the passenger seat and we actually had a discussion about whether to stop at a hospital - it was so bad I nearly threw up. But then it eased off. Still no spotting. Was very hopeful it was implantation, although I thought I'd already had that! Then got worried it was ectopic, but Dr Google says way too early for that.

Then this morning, there is such a faint line you can barely see it on the test - much fainter than Friday's - and frankly, only if you look really hard for it. And I had some browny / almost greyey kind of gunk when I wiped, like catarrah in texture.

Now, I mostly just hurt, and I think that I'm not, and it feels like my period is about to start. But I have clear discharge, and quite a lot of it. I'm still getting shooting pains on my left side, low down.

Shouldn't I have had a stronger line this morning? Used the same brand - Superdrug - each time.

Do I just have to wait? Or go to the docs - which is what DH wants me to do - but I'm not sure they can do anything?

If it was me I would go to the Docs to rule out an ectopic pregnancy, it sounds like the pain at one side might be something to indicate that.

I hope it all works out for you.

Some tests also just have less dye than others (even from the same brand) so waiting to see if the lines get darker isn't always the best way to tell if everything is going ok.

Please let us know how you get on.

Cramping in early pregnancy is completely normal and expected because so much is changing but it shouldn't be more than what you would get for a normal period.

I hope you get some answers soon. x

Thanks Inchy. Still testing positive, but then I started bleeding last night. I no longer hurt, but I can't really see how anything could hold on through this.

I will test again tomorrow - part of me is hoping it's breakthrough bleeding, but it's bright red. Not as heavy as a period though, which gives me some hope.
