Had a MMC end of April this year :(
Bled for 2 weeks & AF arrived bang on time..horrendous but told to expect that. So last month AF was late & I tested like mad - BFN. AF shows her ugly self on CD34 WTAF!!
Decided to ttc this month & OVed at right time & now AF is late again..HPT are all BFN & I'm finding this awful!! Getting a bit worried & more upset as its just a reminder that although I thought it was...my body is not back to normal yet. :(
Has anyone else had this happen?? What do I do??
Thank you if you have read this far.

Hi wifey
I've just had a mc last Friday and been told to fully expect WTF cycle. It is an awful reminder of what's happened, you are right, but as far as I know there is nothing that can be done?
How are you tracking ov?

Hi wifey, I totally hear you!!!
Mc may and first af bang on time really, the longer side of normal and like you said heavy, currently I'm STILL in my second cycle, I'm usually a late 20's girl as early as 25 an no later then 32 here I am on cd36 almost 37 and no sign at all! Bfn and getting really depressed as its the raised hopes!! I can't understand why the first cycle would be ok but the next ones screwed?!? When your desperate to conceive again though an extra week or two is torture, I've never wanted af to appear until now it's actually really upsetting isn't it x

The trouble is that you may detect the LH surge but you may drop the egg up to a week later.

Contrary to popular belief, if you are stressed around your ovulation time and that egg plays silly fuckers, your AF will be late.

AF will not be delayed for ANY other reason other than a delayed ovulation.

The simple answer is that you aren't ovulating when you think you are.

Well - and pregnancy obviously but I remember thinking that if I was stressed right before AF then it will push AF out, but that's actually not right.

Just so we all know, this would be my first month of being back to month and I am normally 28/29 days and have been since I started at the age of 9 and am now 30.

This month, my cycle was 36 days. NO idea why.

Kick, I hear you about the late ov, I'll openly say I have no idea when or if I ovd this month but don't think I was stressed around then particularly but was Ill, still never had this before so I think mc/ hormones has played a part as I posted in the mc section to ask and again it has happened to quite a few people in the second or third cycle after?!

Lolc & kitty...sorry for your loses Sad
Awful isnt it Sad
Lolc...It's just a change in CM (TMI- sorry) really as when my cycle was normal..that was alway a big indicator.
Thank you all for the advice.
Do I resort to OV sticks as we are ttc? Felt so 'pregnant' last week as my symptoms were bang-on when I was pregnant last time so was expecting either a BFP or AF. Confused

Hi guys,

so sorry you are having a nightmare with cycles and sorry to hear about your mc's Sad.

I am so frustrated with my cycles. I have PCOS and was very irregular and then very luckily conceived DS (after a bloody long time trying!) Since stopping breast feeding had two 28 day cycles (great) then 36 day and then started ttc this month. Charting BBT and using opks but not sure if either will work for me. Thought I might have ov'd 15th but BFN on tests but getting cramps, tired, big boobs. It is soooooo hard when you don't know what's going on and a nightmare ttc when you have no idea when you ov. Very frustrated and feeling pretty bummed at my useless body....why won't it just work properly! Angry

Sore boobs is a good thing! It is actually a sign of fertility :)

Wifey I have used opk and always found a surge and was what/ when I expected, this month though it detected a surge at cd15 early for me and I clearly didn't as that was21 days ago and then I spotted EWCM a week later but still really should have af by now as it would still be 14 dpo so not sure what to suggest, when/ if I get af I will still use them though

wifey

There is not a lot you can personally do but if your cycles continue to stay heavy I would seek further medical advice. Do not assume that you ovulate every month, even normally fertile women do not ovulate every month. Do not keep testing, seeing repeated negatives can be soul destroying.

bodi

Charting and OPKs (particularly those as these measure LH and many PCOSers have an excess of LH to start with so the kit reads that) are of not much benefit at all when it comes to PCOS. You'd be better off having blood tests done to see what your hormone levels are like.

There are a few contributing things to anovulatory cycles. Mine are actually lighter and longer when I haven't ovulated.

20% of women who don't OV don't get sore boobs.

wifey6 · 26/07/2012 21:28

Oooo ok...well mine have been very sore since last week. Got my hopes up that it was a good sign/symptom of pregnancy like last time Sad Sad

Well it's a sign of increased progesterone so it's a sign of ovulation. After about 12 - 13DPO, the progesterone drops off if you're not pregnant and increases if you are.

So it's a good sign of fertility and ovulation and PMS and could be conception Grin

It's hard and painful...

I don't envy you but I get to be back in the TTC soon and I can't WAIT for the 2ww. The being forced to not TTC has made me realise how much I miss even having the opportunity to try!

What cd are you on now wifey? Do you have a guesstimate as to when you did ov?
Well I never have sore boobs but pretty sure I ov as I have a snoring dd in next bedroom Smile

I NEVER used to get sore boobs until we decided to TTC

Tell me what the shit is with that?!

Report
kittykatsforever · 26/07/2012 22:08

Lol kick
I never had cramps until I started reading mn!!!
I guess we are just so much more aware of our bodies when we want something
I don't envy the situation you've been in, you must be torn but being told not to TTC when it's all you want must be alconsuming!
I guess we are all in the waiting club at the minute to see if we can get back on the horse!
Oh and I'm sure I've felt weird things in my boobs today like itchy maybe, I guess our brains will tell us anything to keep believing

Yeh I said it before but I got myself to believe that my diabetic ketoacidosis and the rapidly increase blood sugars was pregnancy.

When I started to vomit, far be it for me to think there was actually genuinely something wrong with me, I felt my nipples were burning and was so sure it was pregnancy.

And the funny thing is that ovulation and implantation cramps are actually so very rare in real life. As you say, the mind is a powerful thing. You can believe anything when you really want to.
