Mine has ranged between 8-13 days. One or two of those sysles I'm a bit hmm-ish about ov dates but thes rest I'm confident in. So bit confused really.

Some of those seem a bit short. Have you been charting?

Yes, temping and CM mainly. Have been getting pg no probs (4 babies + 2mc) but just a bit Hmm about the variability.

How long for? I would say the earlier end possibly doesn't allow for implantation properly, that would be my concern! Are you ttc a while after your last baby?

Not that long, shes fifteen months.I agree I don't think it's long enough for implantation.

It's probably worth taking your charts and info to your GP for some advice that being the case.

I've read a bit about luteal phase defect which is apparently easily fixed with vitamin b6 and a progesterone cream

I don't know SM. I wondered the same, mine seems to vary as well.

I can't trust FF any more, or OPKs... I got a 2-3 weeks on the CBD yesterday which puts my ovulation at least 2 days before FF decided it was. And that would have been the day I only just began to get a positive OPK. Hmm

Mind you if I conceived 3 weeks ago that would be during my period!

I had one cycle where it was only about 10 days, it just doesn't seem to make any sense. Starting to come to the conclusion it's totally random!

It's good that you get pregnant easily though.

Hi ladies

Apologies for sounding dim, but how do you measure your luteal phase? I have a clear blue fertility monitor and am on the first cycle of its use (am in the 2ww now). My readings were:

Day 9 - 2 bars
Day 10 - max fertility 3 bars
Day 11 - max fertility 3 bars
Day 12 - 2 bars
Day 13 - back down to 1 bar

Is this the luteal phase? Is this normal?

Thank you

NJ

Hello,

I haven't used it, but I think the monitor you have measures LH (luteinising hormone) and estrogen (not sure - think so though!). This gives it a good idea when you are about to ovulate.

Usually, well always really, your body releases a surge of estrogen and also LH just before you ovulate, ie the egg is released, ready for sperm to fertilise, whether they are there waiting already or about to arrive.

Your peak fertility days are the ones indicated, that means your monitor detected raised levels of these hormones in your urine. So it means it's the right time to have sex if you want to have a baby, those days it told you were 'peak fertility'.

Your luteal phase is the part between ovulation, which will have happened probably on one of those 'peak' days or possibly the day after, and your next period, and during this phase, the egg is travelling down your fallopian tube towards the uterus, either fertilised or not, and when it gets there it will either die if it isn't fertilised or it'll implant into the lining of the uterus and that means you're pregnant.

If it dies, the uterus will then get rid of all of it and start again. If it's implanted, (which will probably occur from about 6 to 12 days after ovulation/fertilisation), you won't have a period and that's that Smile

So the time between the day you ovulated and your next period is your LP, or Luteal phase, and with that sort of monitor you can only estimate the date of ovulation to within two or three days but it gives you a pretty good idea.

Hope this helps a bit, you probably know most of it already but I am a bit long winded Smile

Ps it looks like you ovulate quite early - are your cycles normally fairly short, ie around 25/26 days?

I tend to ovulate around day 10 or 11 sometimes and then period follows about day 25 or so. So LP of 13/14 days.

Hi flightty

Thanks so much for your reply - all info is great - I'm trying to get my head around it all!

Yes my cycles are 26-28 days usually. I didn't realise I ovulated early actually - I'm pleased I invested in the monitor or would have possibly been going for it on the wrong days!

Thanks again x
