Pregnancy after a c-section, wait a year?

Hi all

I had a EMCS September last year, I was advised by a midwife at the time to wait a year before becoming pregnant again.

Can anyone tell me why they advise this? And what are the risks if I get pregnant sooner than this?

Thank you!

I keep posting and losing it so in a nutshell it's to make sure you're fully healed both scar wise so it doesn't rupture and in terms of your general health. CSes involve more blood loss do there's an increased risk of anaemia which can result in low birthweight.

It's always best to see an OB/GYN for an individual assessment though.
