v low progesterone... does this mean I definitely did not ovulate?

So I'm on my 3rd month of clomid and for various reasons I didn't do OPk this month to check ovulation. Had a day 21 S. progesterone test on day 25 because the previous cycles I ovulated on day 16/17 so we worked out the test date based on that (and plus i couldn't do it over the weekend). It was a measly 2. The nurse said that I could have just ovulated early and thats why its so low, but then the low level would almost certainly not support a pregnancy right? I have been having short cycles too, 26 and 27 days but its day 28 and still not come on and got a negative test on day 26. Does it sound like it just didn't work this month and I didn't ovulate at all? I have PCOS so have only had AF with medical support in the last few months.

I'm guessing the clomid didn't work and I'll need more provera to bring on a bleed. but hoping someone might have had similar experiences and can help me understand whats happening!

Hi. As far as I know, unless the test was badly mistimed, that level indicates that you didn't ovulate. Most drs regard a level of 30+ as confirming ovulation.

That level is very low but its hard to make an assessment without knowing when/if you ovulated. It could be low because you are yet to ovulate for example.

Can you ask to have a cycle monitored with scans whilst on clomid? This should be offered for at least one cycle on clomid and will give you a good picture of how your body is responding.

Good luck!
