Pregnancy symptoms, BFN and odd period

Hi,
This is my first post so bear with me! My husband and I have been ttc for 5 months. On my last cycle we used a CB ovulation kit and got busy on smiley face day (day 14 after my last period) and the day after. I thought nothing more about it and on day 26 I got a low cramp in my tummy and assumed my AF was on its way. Nothing came, which I thought was odd as I usually only get period pains the day my AF arrives.
Then from day 27 to day 29 I started to get strong symptoms of pregnancy... Waves of nausea, headaches, lots of clear fluidy discharge. Plus feelings of my tummy stretching, also tiny fluttery feelings in my tummy and feeling slightly light headed. I felt sure I was pregnant.
BUT then on day 29 I started bleeding... First only very lightly when I wiped, but then more strongly. I had what I'd call an odd period. Much shorter than usual (3 days instead of my usual 5), far less red blood (except for on the first day) and much more brown and bitty. It then petered out and I was left with occasional pale pink spotting when I wiped post AF. Assumed I'd just had a strange period, or a chemical pregnancy and thought nothing more about it.
But then my body reverted to displaying pregnancy symptoms again, loads of headaches, nausea, stretchy cramps in my tummy, exhausted, interrupted sleep at night, and just feeling totally pregnant.
I'm now 24 DPO and had a third negative HPT this morning. I've booked an appointment with the GP for next week as I know something is going on with my body, but feel sure that I can't have had three BFNs and a period and still be pregnant.
Anyone got any ideas?!!

Hi Tiniest
So you OVd on day 14? Now 24dpo? If you are PG then it would have shown by now.

I have no advice I'm afraid other than going to the GP.
Just didn't want you to go un answered.

I would go to the GP and get a referral to the EPU. I had similar symptoms and they referred me for a scan to rule out ectopic - It was taken very seriously. If you get shoulder pain go straight to A&E. Ectopics can give BFNs.

BTW my period came with a vengeance just before my scan (which showed nothing) and they thought it was probably a chemical.

I don't want to worry you but also didn't want to ignore.

Thanks both for the suggestions. I'll speak to the dr about an EPU referral. Very glad to hear you didn't end up with an eptopic MissMajorie. Hoping all is well and normal for me too!

Forgot to add, I've had polycystic ovaries in the past... Nothing serious enough to skew my cycle or other obvious symptoms, but still had the cysts on scans.

My ovaries showed as polycystic on the scan so probably a similar thing. Hope you are OK OP.

Miss what's the link between shoulder pain and ectopic pregnancy? Never heard that before. I am learning so much on here.

Ectopics often cause something called 'shoulder tip' pain - basically it is referred pain from the uterus /tubes which manifests in the shoulder. It's not just ectopics that can cause it - the reason people are often given a GA for a hysteroscopy is because it can cause excruciating shoulder pain.

I'm no doctor btw - my info on ectopics is from my scare, MN and this site: www.ectopicpregnancy.co.uk/ which I read in its entirety when I had my scare and I have also had a hysteroscopy.

Update... Went to the doctor, and he was super understanding. I expected to get turned away because I'm only 34, but he took it really seriously and has booked me in for bloods and a scan. Thanks to everyone for the advice. Really good to have a place to vent worries.
