TCC #2 ov tests and lots of waiting, any tips

DS1 was conceived the first month after coming off the pill, having been on it for years. He is now 22 months. When I was pregnant with him i did have a 'period' the first month and then spotting bleeding a few weeks later, so had a suprise at my dating scan as i was a whole month further on than I thought. CS delivery

I breast fed for 6 months, while on the mini pill, which didnt agree with me as i had periods every other week, so as soon as I gave up BF i went back on the combined pill, which was fine. I tell you this as it may be relevant.

Anyway last August I came off the pill and we started trying again, but much as I didnt expect an instant result, I wasnt expecting what i got. Periods ranging from 6 weeks to 3 week cycles, short heavy periods, followed by what i would describe as normal. I have been doing OV tests and no matter how long my cycle is I also start my period 2 weeks to the day after the positive result. Am I ovulating or just having the surge??

has anyone got any tips, or advice, or thoughts on what is happening to my body?
