Hello Bean I had embryo transfer at the a lister last year, was very happy with everyone there. Although for my actual assisted conception treatment, I was with these guys who I would recommend any day of the week as my experience has been great (www.hsfc.org.uk/).

I've also always heard great things about argc.

Have you tried fertility friends site also as that's another place for good info.

Best of luck to you and hope you find the info you need Smile

Hi Pocket1 - thanks so much for writing back. I do hope your experience has been great (and you have a lovely LO or more)?

The ARGC has great stats but a very uninviting website and quite a waiting time until you get to see anyone.

Will have a quick look at your recommendation too.

I'm keen to try out Zita West (expensive) but of course their clinic is new so no real stats to go on. We have been trying naturally for DC2 for over a year and I'm 40. It's begun to sink in that assisted conception might be our only chance. Weirdly DC1 (now 26 mo) was conceived pretty instantly without much ado. But we have discovered a male fertility problem recently and don't know if we should dare hold out to try to conceive naturally (we are trying to fix with acu/lifestyle changes). My numbers aren't so bad for my age...

Sorry - not sure you needed the whole story!

Thanks again.

ps Thanks for your link - I can see they have a male fertility specialist so that may really help. x

I'm shouting at the screen. Please, please look at the stats of everything that charlatan promotes! Hardly any is of statistical significance, it's promoted alongside utterly unproven "complementary" woo-shite and they DON'T do their own if, it's subcontracted through the London Fertility Centre, so it's THEIR stats you need to study.

When you look a the non-hfea approved stats in their website they show they've treated 30 patients. A sample size so small is completely meaningless.

When the stakes are as high as they are, in assisted fertility, please please just pick somewhere that successfully treats a HIGH VOLUME of patients year in year out and can demonstrate robust results. In this case that's the Lister.

I have grave misgivings about the way in which this woman promotes and charge for treatments which patently cannot be shown to work, never mind the ridiculous way in which the data is collated, to couples at their most desperate and vulnerable.

Please choose somewhere else.

[namechange from Beangrower] Thanks Bagofholly - I think you're making a lot of sense. Based on stats ARGC or Lister look a lot more inviting and they don't charge the ludicrous prices that ZW does. Yes - I had clocked that the ZW stats have nothing to do with live birth rates either...
