When you have the cramps, AF type, does that mean ovulation has happened or it's happening? I DTD that morning so hoping I caught it?

The feeling I get at ovulation is very different to my period cramps. It's a sort of gripey pain, not cramps, and is usually off to one side.

Yes it is rather like that, but pretty uncomfortable. Only lasted a day and is gone now. Is that before its being released during or after?

I believe you can experience pain at any stage. Ie as the ovaries are getting ready, as the egg pops, or after. I get mine at all 3 to varying degrees, but I find the actual ovulation pain normally stands out.

So if we dtd that morning did I likely get it in time?

Well TTC is not an exact science, but I'd have thought the timing was good, yes.
