mrsrabbitworkaholic · 22/02/2012 12:49

Is this a sign or pregnancy or a sign that AF is rearing her ugly head??

(had heartburn and queasiness 8&9dpo but dissapeared now)

28 - 30 day cycle.

Could be implantation bleeding. Could be the start of af. No way of telling for a few more days unfortunately.

Implantation bleeding can happen as late as 10dpo?

Apparently the average is 6 - 12 dpo

I've had a few cycles of random pink/brown discharge between 8-10 DPO. Seemingly nothing more than pre-AF spotting, considering I've not got my BFP yet!

Hope it's something a lot more exciting for you though :)

Well, I'ver never had it before (I have a 16 month DD)... But usually my periods start quite obviously IYSWIM, and very heavy. This is four days early and brown discharge now lasting 2 days but only when I wipe.

TMI!! Did you ever think you'd end up writing phrases like that to perfect strangers? lol...

Could be implantation bleeding, do you know how long your luteal phase is normally?

I only got implantation bleeding with 1 of my 3 pregnancies, it's not actually that common.

I'm not really sure what a luteal phase is Blush

My period usually lasts until cycle day 7, I think I ovulate around day 15/16 and my cycle is usually 28-30 days long.

I now have crampy pains in my lower back and to one side. The brown stuff (not sure what to actually call it!) is very late, sort of like the very last day of a period and over the past 24 hours has not even been enough to fill a pad.

My nomal period is very heavy and starts with bright red blood.

Do you think the heartburn at 8/9 dpo means anything?

Took a clearblue digital test just now (although not morning! Stupid me!) and it very clearly said 'Not Pregnant' but maybe tested too early?

I'm not very good at all this TTC stuff! Found out I was pregnant with my DD after a missed period when I started throwing up!

I get this every month. Not wishing to rain on your parade, but every month I get a few days of brown, only when I wipe and a smudge on a pantyliner. I have never been pregnant.

However, if you don't normally get this it could be implantation......

Really? Four or so days before your period is due?

Now its stopped! Theres nothing there. Dull ache and low back pain still niggling though...

What does this mean!!! :)

I think, and I may be wrong that it sounds very hopeful Smile

I think you've got a false negative from testing a bit early, that's all.

But I'm not an authority. No sirree, she says, kicking several empty packets of early tests under the bed to join the stockpile

Good luck!

Yes MrsR. Some times its only for a day or so, but this month it has been since last Saturday and I'm not due until next Friday.

There is a thread about it here

I have had it quite often over the last few months (not TTC until this current cycle - so just about no chance of pregnancy): DS is just two years old. Never had it before he was born, then BF for 11 months. Periods have "changed" since before he was born.

Think it is one of those really annoying symptoms (like many of the others!) that can mean either :(. Either hang in there or test.

V good luck :)

I did, unfortunately! Absolutely no willpower!

BFN - But because its still 4 days till AF I hope....

Although now I'm sitting here thinking 'I'm sure my boobs are bigger... are they sore? I'd better poke them and see!'

PS. Poking boobs repeatedly will make them sore regardless lol.

I had spotting at 10 and 11dpo this month and got my BFP on Monday Smile. I didn't have implantation spotting with my 1st pregnancy so felt sure AF was on the way but nope, I'm pregnant!!

Good luck, hope the same happens for you

Monday was 13dpo, forced myself not to test too early cos I've been bummed out by negative early tests before. Had a few symptoms but all were quite subtle, much as you've described really - bit of cramping, fuller boobs that kept getting weird sensations in them (a bit like the let-down reflex). Boobs aren't sore so far though, wonder if thats from breastfeeding for so long before - they're already primed so to speak.

I'm hopeful for you, sounds promising to me Grin

luteal phase = days between ovulation and your period starting. From what you've said, your luteal phase is probably between 12-15 days long.

Normally the part of your cycle that changes the least is the luteal phase. The day you ovulate can change each month, but your luteal phase tends to stay the same. So any variability in your cycle length is usually down to you ovulating earlier or later, IYSWIM?

Clear as mud? Grin
