hi there! Been ttc for ages. normally have a regular 28 day cycle and opks smile on cd14/15. anyhow this cycle the opk smiled on cd 11. does this mean i ovulated on cd 11 or later? on cd 13 now. have i ovulated already or am about to? did on cd 11 and 12. do we need to carry on? he is working late today. third night in a row might be a bit much?! also are we in with a chance this month or not? isn't ovulation on cd 11 too early? apologies for the barrage! tia x

It doesn't matter when in your cycle you ovulate in general terms. Ovulating on day 11 for example is not 'early' but it might be early for you if you're used to ovulating later. But it's not a problem. OPKs just show a hormone surge, sometimes leading to ovulation, sometimes not so it's impossible to say if or when you ovulated or indeed if you're still yet to ovulate.

Your luteal phase (time between ovulation and period) will remain fairly fixed, usually somewhere between 10 and 16 days is average, so if you did ovulate early or late in any given cycle for whatever reason then you can expect your period to be equally early or late.

You may have ovulated a wee bit earlier, you may have just picked up a hormone surge. Having sex every other day or every 3 days during your fertile period is usually sufficient.

How long have you been trying for? Have you monitored any other fertile signs?

Bearing in mind the luteal phase is fixed, as you have a cycle between 25-28 days in length, oving 3 days earlier than you have been is still within your regular range.
