Ok, I have posted a couple of things before related to this. Bare with me as I am on my phone so apologies for typos.

Dh and I have been ttc dc number 3 for 12 months with no joy. We conceived dc1 and dc2 within 2 months of trying. When I was younger I had been advised I may have pcos, but never officially diagnosed as ultrasound scans were not very clear (womb tilted quite far back). I have always had very irregular periods- very heavy, sometimes lasting 2-3 weeks, other times just 5 days at one point I went 18months without a period (this was a few years before having children) for no apparent reason. My 2 dc were large babies at birth, dc1 was born by emergency c section, dc2 was planned c section.both were v good pregnancies,no problems.

Ok,so, back to the point. I came off the pill in Dec 2010.periods re started. All over the place, light one cycle, heavy the next, cannot predict when I ovulate. Also having lots of irregular bleeding in between (not sure whether this is menstrual bleeding or something else) also, the last couple of weeks I have had a bit of pain under the left side of c section scar which is today spreading beyond the scar. Saw gp today who has requested an internal ultrasound scan, blood test for various things (inc hormone levels, anemia and thyroid). She gave me a thorough examination and said everything seems normal. Also took some swabs.

I am really worried that something serious is wrong. I am also worried I may not have another child. I don't know how long I will have to wait for scan and not having bloods taken for 2weeks (earliest appointment available).

Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Does anyone have any advice on conception problems (this is new to me and I don't really know how to go about increasing our chances). I really needed to off load this as I am feeling quite teary about it (can't sleep and trying to avoid the dreaded Google search of symptoms).

Poor you. Do not google.

Stop panicking because stress will make it all worse. I don't have any advice but 12 months isn't THAT long to be trying, though it seems like it I know. How old are you? Have you tried posting on the conception boards?

Hi morecoffee,

You can ask your post to be moved if you so wish (just click on report and request MN to move it).

You should be referred to a gynae now given your gynaecological history. I would ask the GP to refer you now regardless of how the blood test results come back.

A tilted uterus would not cause problems with ttc; I think your main issues are the suspected PCOS, the irregularity of bleeding (this certainly needs to be checked out further) and the scarring pain which is likely to be caused by adhesions (these are sticky strands that tether organs together). All this warrants a gynae referral, GP should not delay a referral here.
